28 Fresh Tet cherry blossoms dumped on the street, only 80,000 VND/tree

As Tet approaches, many gardeners have started to discount their peach blossom and kumquat plants to get rid of excess inventory. According to several retailers, consumer spending this year has decreased compared to last year, so they have to lower prices in order to stimulate demand.


Taking a stroll along the streets selling peach blossoms and kumquat trees, it feels like an bustling market in My Dinh, Trung Kinh flower market has been crowded with discount signs and fixed prices.

Here, hundreds of people set up stalls selling peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, and kumquat trees with various shapes and positions. Almost all types of flowers at the market have bloomed.

The prices of pots range from 80,000 VND to several million VND per tree, depending on the size and shape of the pot.

Many pots of peach blossoms and apricot blossoms are blooming and are discounted to only 100,000 VND per branch.

Many people are attracted by the discount signs and come to see and buy flowers.

Buyers and sellers are crowded, and many customers haggle continuously in the hope of finding the most beautiful peach blossom branches at an affordable price.

Traders share that this year’s peach blossoms and apricot blossoms mainly come from Son La, Lang Son, and Moc Chau. The prices are much cheaper than last year due to lower purchasing power and early blooming.

Lan (56 years old, in Xuan La, Tay Ho, Hanoi), who has been selling kumquat trees for 20 years, said that due to the general economic difficulties, the price of kumquat trees this year is also lower than usual despite being very beautiful.

Many customers come early to choose beautiful peach blossom branches but are quite surprised that the prices have already dropped. Hải Long (Cau Giay, Hanoi) shared: “I’m on my way home and saw the discounted peach blossoms, so I stopped by to take a look. This year, the peach blossoms are discounted early, the quality of the pots is beautiful, and the prices are cheap, so I bought them right away. I hope they will bloom beautifully and on time.”

“I’m trying to sell today and tomorrow, hoping to sell all these peach blossoms and go home for Tet,” said Tuan, a flower seller in My Dinh optimistically.
