The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) released a report on July 17 regarding the trading of shares by an individual related to an insider of Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank), with the stock code SSB.
Specifically, Mr. Le Tuan Anh, son of Madame Nga (Nguyen Thi Nga), Permanent Vice Chairman of SeABank’s Board of Directors, registered to sell 1 million SSB shares.
The transaction was carried out through order matching. The trading period was from June 21 to July 16, 2024. Calculated based on the closing price of VND20,800 per SSB share on July 16, Mr. Tuan Anh would have earned VND20.8 billion from this transaction.
Following this transaction, Mr. Tuan Anh’s ownership of SSB shares decreased to 47.51 million shares, equivalent to 1.904% of the charter capital.
Since the end of December 2023, Mr. Le Tuan Anh has been consistently selling large quantities of SSB shares for financial restructuring purposes.
In a separate development, the State Bank of Vietnam has approved SeABank’s proposal to increase its charter capital by a maximum of VND3,843 billion through the issuance of 329 million bonus shares and 10.3 million bonus shares from the source of owner’s equity. Additionally, the bank plans to issue a maximum of 45 million ESOP shares to its employees under a share-based incentive program.
SeABank is required to complete the necessary procedures as per regulations. Currently, the bank’s charter capital stands at VND24,957 billion, and upon completion of the capital increase, it will reach VND28,800 billion.
In terms of financial performance, SeABank recorded a pre-tax profit of VND1,506 billion in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of nearly 41% compared to the same period in 2023. The bank’s total operating income reached VND2,706 billion, up 19.54%, while total revenue stood at VND6,438 billion, a 4.6% increase.
As of March 31, 2024, SeABank’s total assets amounted to VND271,614 billion, representing a 2.06% increase, or a net increase of VND5,492 billion, compared to the figure on December 31, 2023.
