Gumball 3000 is the world’s largest supercar rally, first launched in 1999. Celebrating its 25th anniversary (1999 – 2024), this year’s Gumball 3000 – Saigon to Singapore made its inaugural journey to Vietnam. Over 100 supercars, ranging from classic Porsches to Rolls-Royces and Pagani hypercars, assembled in Ho Chi Minh City for the rally, which took place from September 14-22 and spanned five countries: Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore.

Not only did Gumball 3000 feature an impressive array of vehicles, but it also played host to renowned drivers such as DDE and James Walker “JWW,” as well as celebrities including Patrice Evra, iShowSpeed, Sara Choi, Nico Leonard Van De Horst, Vikkstar, Bun B, and Lazar Beam.

Alongside the supercars, the public was treated to the sight of VinFast VF 9 electric vehicles owned by Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong and a collection of Ferraris belonging to Trung Nguyen Coffee Chairman, Dang Le Nguyen Vu, who made a notable appearance at this prestigious event.

A fleet of VinFast VF 9 and VF 7 vehicles, adorned with the FGF logo, was on hand to transport VIP guests, including KOLs, athletes, and celebrities such as former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and stremer iShowSpeed, during their time in Vietnam. A total of 14 VF 9s and 7 VF 7s were mobilized for this grand-scale Gumball 3000 event.

These VinFast electric vehicles are owned by FGF – For Green Future, a company established by Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong with a charter capital of 200 billion VND, of which he holds a 90% stake. FGF operates in the field of buying and selling VinFast electric cars and providing self-driving car rental services.

In its initial phase, FGF plans to have 1,000 – 2,000 self-driving rental cars, including all VinFast models, operating in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, and Hue. Following its official launch, the company will continue to expand its fleet size and gradually extend its services nationwide.

Representing Vietnam, Trung Nguyen Legend showcased an impressive collection of 15 luxury vehicles, including Ferraris, Porsches, Bugattis, and Fords, at Gumball 3000. The Ferraris, in particular, drew attention with their variety, including the 488 GTB, 488 Pista/488 Pista Spider, F8 Tributo, F8 Spider, and the Roma/Roma Spider duo.

It is worth noting that these vehicles were displayed and did not join the cross-country journey through five Southeast Asian nations like the other supercars at Gumball 3000. This year, Trung Nguyen Legend is the official provider of special energy coffee for the event.

As one of the foremost collectors of supercars in Vietnam, “Coffee King” Dang Le Nguyen Vu made headlines when he revealed that he had spent nearly 1,000 billion VND on automobiles. As of 2022, his collection boasted approximately 500 vehicles. In a recent conversation, the entrepreneur disclosed that his fleet has now grown to 700 cars, with an estimated value of nearly 3,000 billion VND.
