On May 27th, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai Province decided to prosecute and arrest Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dan, Chairman of Trang Dai Ward, Bien Hoa City, for allegedly taking bribes.

In relation to this case, the Investigation Police Agency of Dong Nai Province also arrested four officials from the Trang Dai Ward Urban Management Team: Pham Van Tu (39), Tran Dinh Hoai (39), Tran Dinh Hung (32), and Tran Van Tuan (36), on charges of taking bribes; and prosecuted and detained Nguyen Ba Thanh (37) and Nguyen Van Vinh (44), both residing in Trang Dai Ward, for acting as intermediaries in bribery.
Executing the arrest and searching the workplace of the accused
According to the initial investigation, through personal connections, Nguyen Ba Thanh and Nguyen Van Vinh received money from local residents in Trang Dai Ward who wanted to build houses illegally on agricultural land. Thanh and Vinh then bribed several officials from the Trang Dai Ward Urban Management Team to ensure that these residents could build illegally without facing inspections, violation reports, or being forced to stop construction or demolish their structures.
