Ninh Bình authorities seized a large quantity of frozen food without proper documentation during a recent inspection.

On June 9, the Ninh Bình Provincial Police reported that the Economic Police Department, in collaboration with other functional units, conducted a surprise inspection at a cold storage facility on Trần Hưng Đạo Street, Ninh Khánh Ward, Hoa Lư City. The inspection revealed approximately 6.5 tons of frozen meat, including beef, buffalo, pork, and chicken, lacking invoices and documents verifying their origin. The owner of the warehouse was identified as Hoàng Thị Thu Uyên (DOB: 1996, residing in Hoa Lư City).

Less than a day later, authorities discovered another cold storage facility in the same city, owned by Phạm Quốc Đại (DOB: 1994), located in Trung Sơn Ward, Tam Điệp City. This facility held nearly 2.5 tons of assorted frozen food in similar conditions, with an estimated value of nearly 1 billion VND. All goods were confiscated for investigation and handling according to legal regulations.

Seizure of Thousands of Unauthorized Children’s Toys

The authorities extended their inspections beyond food items to consumer goods sold online and at physical stores. The Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Division, in collaboration with other units, inspected a children’s toy business on Nguyễn Công Trứ Street, Ninh Phúc Ward, Hoa Lư City, owned by Vũ Tiến Đạt (DOB: 1995, residing in Hoa Lư City). More than 5,000 children’s toys, including toy cars, dolls, fishing games, wooden math boards, and puzzles, worth approximately 350 million VND, were found without proper documentation or clear origins. The goods were sealed and confiscated for investigation and handling.

These recent cases serve as a stern warning about the persistent issue of counterfeit and undocumented goods infiltrating daily life and posing direct health risks to consumers, especially regarding food and children’s products.
