On June 12th, the Office of the Hanoi People’s Committee issued a document regarding the inspection and handling of media reports on land encroachment and illegal construction during the transitional period.

Specifically, in the past, the media has published articles on cases of individuals and organizations taking advantage of the transitional period and changes in administrative boundaries to encroach on land, ponds, and fields, as well as engage in unauthorized construction, causing public dissatisfaction. These incidents have occurred in several localities.

Addressing construction order violations in Tay Ho district

In response, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Nguyen Trong Dong, directed the Hanoi Police to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to promptly inspect and handle law violations related to land and construction order (if any), as reflected in the media and other sources.

If there are signs of criminal offenses, the case file should be strengthened, and strict handling should be carried out in accordance with the law and within the authority.

A report on the implementation results should be submitted to the Hanoi People’s Committee before June 25, 2025.
