
Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) statistics reveal that the total car market recorded 29,210 units sold in May, a 1% decrease from the previous month, but a 13% increase from May 2024.
Similarly, Vietnamese electric carmaker VinFast announced the delivery of 11,496 electric vehicles in May 2025, bringing the year-to-date total to 56,187 units, solidifying its position as the top brand in the market. Meanwhile, Hyundai, the South Korean automobile manufacturer, reported sales of 4,063 vehicles, bringing their 2025 five-month sales total to 20,007 units.
For the month ending April 2025, VinFast’s dynamic duo, the VF 5 and VF 3, continued their dominance in the market, with 4,232 and 3,950 units reaching consumers, respectively. These two models are the only ones to surpass the 3,000-unit sales mark in the rankings.
The biggest surprise came from Ford Territory, which recorded sales of 1,481 units, outperforming the Mazda CX-5 (1,446 units) to become the best-selling C-segment SUV for the month. This is the first time the Territory has surpassed the CX-5 in sales, attributed to attractive promotional programs.
