The Co Linh Underpass project aims to enhance the infrastructure of the intersection, significantly improving traffic flow between Vinh Tuy Bridge and Long Bien districts.
Designed with a total length of approximately 600 meters, the underpass includes a 100-meter enclosed tunnel and a 260-meter open tunnel. The remaining sections consist of walls, barriers, and connecting ramps to Dam Quang Trung Street and Vinh Tuy Bridge’s approach road.
The tunnel’s cross-section spans 27 meters, accommodating 6 lanes. Additionally, sidewalks will be trimmed, central dividers adjusted, and lanes widened along surrounding roads to optimize traffic flow.
With a total investment of approximately 750 billion VND, the project is managed by Hanoi’s Transportation Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project Management Board.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, a ride-hailing driver, shared, “The Co Linh intersection frequently experiences congestion during peak hours. Especially on rainy days, Dam Quang Trung Street near the intersection often floods, disrupting travel for residents.”
“I believe constructing the underpass is essential for ensuring smooth traffic flow in this area,” Mr. Nam added.
During the morning, the volume of people and vehicles heading toward Vinh Tuy Bridge remains consistently high.
Traffic police are always on duty to manage traffic issues along the route.
Late in the afternoon, traffic volume increases significantly from Vinh Tuy Bridge toward Long Bien.

The Co Linh Overpass ensures uninterrupted traffic flow along Co Linh Street.
Upon completion of the underpass, the Co Linh – Vinh Tuy intersection will feature a three-tiered transportation system: an overpass, existing roads, and the underpass. This will contribute to completing Ring Road 2 and reducing congestion.
