The Management Board of Zone 6 Project in Dong Nai Province has officially launched the Phase 1 construction of the Interport Road Project.

As per the master plan, the interport road spans over 15 km, connecting the boundary of Ong Keo Industrial Zone at its starting point and linking to Viet Thuan Thanh Port at its endpoint.

In Phase 1, the project will develop an 8.8 km segment, divided into two sections: Section 1, measuring 6.9 km, will feature an 8-lane road, while Section 2, spanning 1.9 km, will have a 4-lane road. Five bridges will be constructed along the route.

With a total investment of over VND 2.6 trillion, the project is set to be executed in Dai Phuoc Commune, with a contractual construction period of 36 months. The joint venture contractor aims to expedite the timeline to 30 months, targeting completion and operation by the end of March 2028.

Upon completion, the interport road will seamlessly integrate the road network with seaports, facilitating port investment and operations in Dai Phuoc Commune. It will also play a pivotal role in developing a modern riverside urban area, aligned with sustainable and smart growth objectives.

This road is strategically positioned to leverage the advantages of Long Thanh International Airport, fostering the growth of a port-logistics-industrial zone-riverside urban cluster. It is expected to propel Dong Nai’s economy to new heights within the Southern Key Economic Region.

Long Thanh International Airport, a national key infrastructure project with an investment exceeding USD 16 billion, is being implemented in three phases.

Phase 1, slated for completion and operation by 2026, involves an investment of USD 5.45 billion and will accommodate 25 million passengers annually.

Phase 2, scheduled from 2028 to 2032, will increase capacity to 50 million passengers per year.

Phase 3, commencing after 2035, will finalize all infrastructure, boosting capacity to 100 million passengers annually, establishing it as Vietnam’s largest airport and one of Asia’s premier aviation hubs.

Recently, the first calibration flights were conducted at Long Thanh International Airport.

The calibration operations, scheduled from September 26 to October 24, 2025, are being carried out by ATTECH, a subsidiary of Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM). This phase will calibrate critical systems at Long Thanh Airport, including two ILS/DME precision landing systems, one VOR/DME navigation system, airport lighting systems, radar and ADS-B surveillance systems, and associated flight procedures.
