Dong Nai to Invest $250 Million in 30km Road Expansion Connecting Three Communes to Landmark $16 Billion Project, Marking Eighth Prime Ministerial Visit in Three Years

The Provincial Road 769 Upgrade and Expansion Project will seamlessly connect and significantly reduce travel time from the Central Highlands and South Central regions to Long Thanh Airport, enhancing regional accessibility and economic integration.

According to the Dong Nai Provincial Project Management Board, the upgrade and expansion project of Provincial Road 769 is expected to commence construction in February 2026.

Dong Nai Newspaper reports that the project spans approximately 30km, starting at the intersection with National Highway 1 at Dau Giay Junction, Dau Giay Commune, Dong Nai Province, and ending at the intersection with National Highway 51 at Loc An Junction, Long Thanh Commune, Dong Nai Province.

The project is divided into four segments. Segments 1, 3, and 4 will be developed with a capacity of 6 motor vehicle lanes and 2 mixed-use lanes. Segment 2 will feature 6 motor vehicle lanes.

The expansion and upgrade of Provincial Road 769 is slated to begin construction in February 2026.

The total investment for the Provincial Road 769 Upgrade and Expansion Project is nearly 5.9 trillion VND, including over 3 trillion VND for compensation, resettlement, and land clearance. The project will be implemented across Dau Giay, Binh An, and Long Thanh communes in Dong Nai Province, requiring the reclamation of over 134 hectares of land.

Regarding land reclamation, compensation, and clearance, the Project Management Board has handed over the land clearance boundary markers to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center for implementation.

This project is part of Dong Nai Province’s initiative to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time from local areas and provinces in the Central Highlands and South Central regions to Long Thanh International Airport. It aims to meet transportation demands, alleviate traffic on National Highway 1, and foster socio-economic development in the localities along the route, as well as in Dong Nai Province and the Southern Key Economic Region.

Long Thanh International Airport, located in Long Thanh District (Dong Nai), covers nearly 5,000 hectares with a total investment of up to 16 billion USD (over 336.6 trillion VND).

As directed by the Prime Minister, the Long Thanh Airport project remains on track for substantial completion by December 19, 2025. The airport has set a record with eight visits from the Prime Minister in three years, the most recent being on August 2.
