At the Ministry of Construction’s October 2025 briefing held on November 11th, Mr. Le Quyet Tien, Director of the Department of Economics and Construction Investment Management, announced that the Ministry plans to commence and inaugurate 16 projects on December 19th.

Among these, 4 projects are slated for groundbreaking: the expansion of the Cam Lo – La Son section, completion of the Than Vu tunnel, expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong – My Thuan expressway, and the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway.
The 12 projects scheduled for inauguration include sections of the North-South Eastern Expressway: Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh, Chi Thanh – Van Phong, Can Tho – Hau Giang, and Hau Giang – Ca Mau.
Additional projects encompass: Component 2 of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway, Cao Lanh – Lo Te and Lo Te – Rach Soi, expansion of certain bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1, dredging of the Quy Nhon channel for 50,000DWT vessels, and the upgrade of the Cai Mep – Thi Vai channel from buoy “0” to the Cai Mep container port area.
In response to the Prime Minister’s directive, the Ministry of Construction has requested relevant ministries, sectors, and People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-governed cities to review and register projects for groundbreaking and inauguration on December 19th. To date, the Department of Economics and Construction Investment Management has received registration documents from 30 agencies and units (6 out of 17 ministries, 13 out of 34 localities, and 11 corporations and companies), totaling 60 projects (36 for groundbreaking and 24 for inauguration).
