According to UOB Bank’s Vietnam Economic Outlook Report for Q4 2025, Vietnam’s economic growth has surpassed expectations so far this year, despite risks stemming from U.S. tax policies. With a 7.85% growth rate in the first three quarters, the full-year outlook remains positive. Currently, Vietnam is one of ASEAN’s fastest-growing economies, with a projected growth rate of over 7%, outpacing Indonesia (5%), Malaysia (4.6-5.3%), Singapore (3.52%), and Thailand (2-3%). However, due to the high base effect in Q4 2024, the final quarter is expected to face challenges amid trade tensions and tariff uncertainties.

Existing issues that could impact the year-end sprint include: public investment disbursement falling short of expectations; persistent exchange rate pressures; lingering inflation concerns; and limited room for monetary policy easing.

The three most popular investment channels among Vietnamese investors this year—stocks, real estate, and gold—have shown mixed performances. After reaching an all-time high, Vietnam’s stock market experienced a slight correction, though the benchmark index’s decline doesn’t fully reflect the losses in most individual investors’ portfolios. The real estate market, however, has shown signs of recovery, supported by stronger fundamentals: legal (new laws), financial (easing interest rates), and demand (shift from speculation to genuine housing needs).

Meanwhile, gold has been the most attractive investment channel this year, surging over 70%. This highlights a shift in the market’s perception of “safety,” focusing on preserving purchasing power. Amid persistent global inflation and ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, gold remains a preferred asset for value preservation.

Which asset class—stocks, real estate, or gold—will be the best investment to ride the year-end wave? How should portfolios be structured to outperform the market while managing risk? These questions will be addressed by seasoned experts in VietstockLIVE #21, themed: “Ride the Wave: Stocks, Real Estate, or Gold for the Year-End Rally?”.
