Eligible for Regional and International Commercial Operations

According to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), from September 26 to October 29, the Flight Inspection and Calibration Center completed all flight inspection, calibration, and flight procedure validation activities at Long Thanh International Airport.

This process holds both technical and legal significance, crucial for the overall project acceptance and demonstrates Vietnam’s aviation sector’s expertise and collaborative spirit in its deep international integration journey.

Following the calibration, experts from the Czech Republic’s Air Navigation Academy, who conducted the calibration flights, praised the international collaboration, structured processes, and technical proficiency of Vietnamese specialists. The Radar and ADS-B systems met or exceeded ICAO and European standards, qualifying the airport for regional and international commercial operations.

This milestone serves as a strategic foundation, the “final exam” propelling Long Thanh Airport toward commercial operations, contributing to Vietnam’s transportation, economic, and social development strategies.

Currently, Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is in its final construction sprint, aiming to complete infrastructure by late 2025. On December 19, 2025, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will conduct a technical flight, preparing for commercial operations in the first half of 2026, as directed by the Prime Minister.

Recruiting Nearly 14,000 Workers for 2026 Takeoff

Alongside calibration and accelerated construction, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) recently announced recruitment to prepare for Long Thanh Airport’s operations.

Phase 1 requires nearly 14,000 workers across five sectors: 2,961 in airport operations; 881 in air traffic management; 828 in air transport; 8,909 in aviation services; and 190 in airport authority. Additionally, 1,544 direct labor workers are needed.

Candidates must be under 30 (up to 35 for some roles), hold a high school diploma or higher, or have technical qualifications in mechanics, automation, electronics, telecommunications, IT, electrical engineering, environmental technology, or HVAC systems.

Earlier, ACV, Dong Nai Province, and aviation partners hosted the Long Thanh Airport Job Fair at An Phuoc Park, attracting 10,000 participants and 1,298 applications.

This massive labor demand is driving new residential trends in areas like Long Thanh and Nhon Trach. FIATO Airport City stands out as an ideal destination near the airport, located on Ton Duc Thang Street (25B), just 10 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes from Ho Chi Minh City. It offers airport staff quick metro access (500m from both project ends) and comprehensive amenities.

The project’s Galaxy Block is set for Q4/2026 delivery, aligning with Long Thanh Airport’s Phase 1 launch. This presents both an investment opportunity and high-quality housing for airport staff, ensuring stable living and working conditions. The commercial podium will attract a steady customer base from airport personnel, locals, and tourists, optimizing business potential and asset value.

Dong Nai plans a “Dynamic Urban Quadrilateral” around Long Thanh Airport, with Long Thanh as a smart city and international logistics hub, Bien Hoa as a service center, and Nhon Trach as a strategic satellite city connecting the airport to Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.

The Dong Nai Construction Department aims to develop Long Thanh into a global aerotropolis, a growth hub for international logistics, high-tech industries, and global services. This vision extends beyond Dong Nai, connecting the Southeast region to the world.

A green, smart urban corridor linking Bien Hoa, Nhon Trach, Long Khanh, and Trang Bom will serve as a national-level growth axis, directly connecting to Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands, forming a new urban backbone for regional development.

Long Thanh Airport is envisioned as a key link in a dynamic regional urban network, strategically connected to the Phuoc An – Cai Mep port cluster, creating a unique logistics corridor. Plans include a free trade zone (FTZ) around the airport, focusing on logistics, supporting industries, and sustainable development.

Policies will incentivize urban development, smart cities, modern services, and logistics, positioning Long Thanh as a global aviation and economic hub.
