At the October 2025 Ministry of Construction’s monthly briefing, the Minister emphasized the urgent need to commence the expansion of the HCMC – Trung Luong – My Thuan Expressway by December 19th. This high-priority project aims to address growing transportation demands.
The joint venture behind this initiative includes Deo Ca Group JSC, HCMC Infrastructure Investment JSC, Tasco JSC, Hoang Long Construction and Investment Corporation, and CII Service and Investment Limited Liability Company.
With a total investment exceeding VND 41,372 billion—an increase of approximately VND 1,572 billion from initial estimates—the project spans 96.13 kilometers. It begins at Cho Dem Junction in HCMC and concludes at the northern end of My Thuan 2 Bridge in Dong Thap Province.

The HCMC – Trung Luong segment will expand from 4 to 8 lanes, featuring a 41-meter-wide roadbed and a design speed of 120 km/h. Future plans include a 12-lane section from Cho Dem to Ring Road 4 (56-meter-wide roadbed) and a 10-lane section from Ring Road 4 to Trung Luong (48.5-meter-wide roadbed).
The Trung Luong – My Thuan segment will expand from 4 restricted lanes to 6 lanes, with a 32.25-meter-wide roadbed and a design speed of 100 km/h, aligning with existing planning standards.
Additionally, the project will integrate smart traffic systems, toll stations, rest stops, and other synchronized infrastructure to meet current regulations and standards.
The project requires approximately 1,045.55 hectares of land, with 949.71 hectares already cleared in previous phases. An additional 95.84 hectares need clearance, distributed across HCMC (6.37 ha), Long An Province (60.84 ha), and Tien Giang Province (28.63 ha).
Upon completion, the expressway will alleviate traffic congestion—especially during holidays—reduce logistics costs, and enhance connectivity between Southern Vietnam’s key economic regions and the Mekong Delta. This will foster trade, tourism, and investment across the region.
