On the morning of November 14th, during the premiere of the film “Tường lửa Tràng An – Chuyên án Cạm bẫy số,” Lieutenant General Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, Director of Hanoi Police Department, highlighted the remarkable achievements of the capital’s police force. Among these was the collaboration with the Philippine police to apprehend a key figure in the Mr Pips case.

Hanoi Police are currently reporting to the Ministry of Public Security to expedite the extradition process of Lê Khắc Ngọ and another suspect back to Vietnam.

Investigative authorities have prosecuted 48 individuals and seized assets worth over 5,300 billion VND.

This marks the first time Vietnam has successfully dismantled a transnational high-tech fraud ring in its entirety. Lieutenant General Nguyễn Thanh Tùng noted that this accomplishment has been highly regarded internationally, as many countries have struggled to investigate and arrest perpetrators of such sophisticated global fraud schemes.

Colonel Long stated that the total seized assets now amount to approximately 5,215 billion VND.

Additionally, Hanoi Police uncovered that Phó Đức Nam transferred approximately 5 billion VND to a Singaporean bank. They are collaborating with Interpol Singapore to freeze and seize these funds.

Regarding Nam’s overseas assets, Colonel Long revealed that Nam has approximately 1.5 million USD in bank accounts under relatives’ names in Singapore, Cambodia, Australia, and other countries.

In terms of real estate, Nam owns two apartments worth 800,000 USD in Cambodia, one apartment valued at 600,000 USD in Dubai, one apartment worth 300,000 USD in Australia, and one apartment valued at 400,000 USD in Turkey.
