After a thorough inspection and review of fire safety measures, the Hanoi Police Department has ordered the closure of 22 mini-apartments and 16,479 boarding houses due to non-compliance with fire safety regulations.

At the Ministry of Public Security’s press conference on July 8, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of Hanoi Police, provided information on the inspection and review of fire prevention and control measures in various establishments across the city.

Regarding boarding houses, the police inspected 36,972 out of 36,972 such residences in the area. They issued penalties for 3,134 cases involving 4,310 violations, resulting in fines totaling nearly VND 13 billion. Additionally, 672 cases were temporarily suspended, 75 were already under suspension, and 16,479 establishments were ordered to cease operations. All landlords signed commitments to comply.

For mini-apartments, the police inspected 193 buildings and temporarily suspended 14, with four already under suspension. Authorities ordered 22 to stop operating, and all investors signed commitments.

In the case of residential buildings combined with production and business activities, the police inspected 5,808 establishments, penalized 435 cases involving 636 violations, and imposed fines totaling VND 487 million. Nine cases were temporarily suspended, one was already under suspension, 129 were ordered to cease operations, and all investors signed commitments.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung further informed that for kindergartens and nursery schools, the police inspected 935 facilities, penalized 59 cases involving 70 violations, and imposed fines totaling VND 200 million. Twenty-three cases were temporarily suspended, two were already under suspension, 32 were ordered to stop operating, and all investors signed commitments.

Regarding apartments, the Hanoi police inspected 317 buildings, penalized four cases involving six violations, and imposed fines totaling over VND 93 million. Two cases were temporarily suspended, and two were already under suspension. All investors signed commitments to comply.
