On May 30th, Mr. Tran Huu Hung, Director of the Quang Tri Department of Construction, announced that they have approved the registration of a fixed passenger transport route between Dong Ha and Dong Hoi.

The approved operator for the inter-provincial fixed passenger transport route between Dong Ha Bus Station (Quang Tri) and Dong Hoi Bus Station (Quang Binh) is the Quang Tri Branch of Tan Quang Dung – Men Thuong Tourism Service Company Limited.

The Dong Ha – Dong Hoi fixed transport route (route code 7374.1111.A) covers a distance of 90km. Dong Ha Bus Station is the departure point, and Dong Hoi Bus Station is the destination.

According to the approved document, there will be two departure times from the outbound station at 5:30 AM and 2:30 PM, and two return times at 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. The monthly frequency is set at 60 trips per month. The company has 60 days from the approval date to commence operations on this route.

“The fixed passenger transport route between Dong Ha and Dong Hoi, and vice versa, will provide added convenience for travelers and create another option for passengers following the merger of Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces,” said Mr. Tran Huu Hung.

Additionally, the Quang Tri Department of Construction and the Quang Binh Department of Construction have agreed to allow the aforementioned company to operate the Lao Bao – Dong Hoi fixed passenger transport route and vice versa. This route will originate from Lao Bao Bus Station (Quang Tri) and terminate at Dong Hoi Bus Station (Quang Binh), covering a distance of 189km. There will be 90 trips per month, with three departure times from the outbound station at 7:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 4:00 PM, and three return times at 7:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 4:30 PM.

Previously, the Tien Phong Newspaper reported that the Departments of Construction of Quang Tri and Quang Binh had agreed to establish a new inter-provincial bus route between Dong Ha and Dong Hoi. The Quang Tri Department of Construction committed to completing the necessary procedures and announcing the operation of the Dong Ha – Dong Hoi bus route by July 30th, 2025.
