Stocks Surge for 10 Consecutive Sessions: DAT Issues Another “Template” Explanation

Following a remarkable five-session consecutive surge from September 8th to 12th, shares of Tourism and Seafood Development Investment Corporation (HOSE: DAT) continued their upward trajectory, hitting the upper limit for five additional sessions. This unprecedented rally prompted the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange to request an official explanation from the company.

Specifically, DAT continued its ceiling-hitting streak from September 15th to 19th, boosting the stock price from 10,400 to 14,400 VND per share, marking a nearly 38.5% increase. The session on September 19th also marked the 10th consecutive ceiling-hitting session for this stock. Compared to the period before the rally, the stock price surged by almost 95%.

DAT Stock Price Surge

Not only did the price rise, but the stock’s liquidity also skyrocketed during the period from September 8th to 15th, reaching tens of thousands of shares per session compared to less than 5,000 shares in the previous period. From September 16th to 18th, liquidity dropped to 5,000-7,000 shares per session before surging to 27,300 shares on September 19th.

With this price surge, DAT submitted another explanation to the State Securities Commission and HOSE. However, the reason provided was similar to the previous explanation and relatively… boilerplate, stating that the price increase depends on supply and demand, which is beyond the company’s control and management. Additionally, “production and business activities remain stable and normal, with no significant or unusual changes that could impact the stock price” – quoted from DAT‘s explanation.

Starting the morning session on September 22nd, DAT stock continued its ceiling-hitting trend. If the purple color is maintained until the end of the session, it will be the 11th consecutive ceiling-hitting session for this stock.
