The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a conclusion from Vice Chairman Bui Xuan Cuong regarding the progress of the investment study for the Phu My 2 Bridge.
Regarding the preparation of the investment policy report, the Vice Chairman has tasked the Department of Finance with urgently collaborating with Masterise Group Joint Stock Company. The goal is to review and expedite the preparation process, ensuring the project is ready for groundbreaking on January 15, 2026, in celebration of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
According to the proposal submitted by Masterise Group in August 2025, the Phu My 2 Bridge and Road project spans approximately 16.7 km (including access roads), with a capacity of 6 motor vehicle lanes and 2 non-motorized lanes. The total estimated investment is 21,484 billion VND.
The Phu My 2 Bridge and Road project spans approximately 16.7 km (including access roads).
The project begins at Nguyen Huu Tho Street (Ho Chi Minh City), heading east to connect with Hoang Quoc Viet Street, then to Dao Tri Street, crossing the Dong Nai River, and linking to Lien Cang Street before connecting to Road 25C in Dong Nai Province. This project will connect Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai Province, facilitating access to Long Thanh International Airport.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee agreed to assign Masterise Group Joint Stock Company to conduct research and prepare the investment policy report for the Phu My 2 Bridge construction project under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
Upon completion, the Phu My 2 Bridge will connect South Saigon with Dong Nai, forming a transportation corridor from Hiep Phuoc Port to Long Thanh Airport. This will reduce travel time and alleviate congestion on the frequently overloaded Phu My 1 Bridge.
Furthermore, the project passes through densely populated areas in District 7 (former Ho Chi Minh City), particularly the Phu My Hung urban area. Travel time from here to Long Thanh Airport will be reduced to approximately 30–35 minutes, compared to over an hour currently.
