When he first came to the flower market, he sold each tree for prices ranging from 2 to 4 million VND. Now, the price has dropped to 1.5 million VND.

“I sell at a loss to get money for the trees, and the other expenses are considered as my own investment” – Mr. Phuc said.

Despite the significant price reductions, apricot tree stalls are still unsold and many people inquire but do not buy. Mr. Nguyen Cong Bang said that by noon on the 30th day of Tet, he still had more than 60 out of 100 apricot trees that he brought to the flower market.

According to Mr. Bang, the difficult economic situation strongly affects people’s purchasing power for flowers and ornamental trees this year.
