In the first days of the new year, PV Tien Phong was present at some industrial zones in Bac Giang province and observed many companies operating during Tet, with a busy working atmosphere.
At Elite Solar Vietnam Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in Quang Chau Industrial Park (Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province), many workers were working diligently.
Mr. Ly Van Dien (born in 1997) shared that he is from Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province. He has been working at the company for nearly 2 years.
This year, Mr. Dien decided to stay and work during Tet to contribute to the development of the company and earn more income. Although he was unable to be with his family to celebrate Tet, he got to celebrate Tet with his colleagues, which was a new experience for him.
Mr. Dien added that he works in the safety department of the company. Tet is a time to enhance fire and explosion prevention measures, and the safety department staff must be committed to working during Tet to ensure the best working environment for colleagues to produce and meet the orders of partners.
“The company also has many activities to encourage the spirit of workers working during Tet, such as giving lucky money, Tet meals. We feel that the company is not only a workplace but also a second home for every employee. At the beginning of the new year, I hope the company will continue to develop,” Mr. Dien shared.
According to the representative of Elite Solar Vietnam Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the number of Vietnamese workers who work during Tet is about 280 people (accounting for 80% of the total number of Vietnamese workers in the company). In addition, the company has more than 30 foreign officials staying in Vietnam during Tet.
Workers who stay and work during Tet are given lucky money (500,000 VND), arranged transportation for workers who live far away (over 20 km), snacks and drinks for break time. In addition to providing free daily meals, the company also improves the quality of each meal (a standard meal costs 30,000 VND/person, increased to 50,000 VND/person). In addition to the overtime policy according to regulations, workers also receive an additional bonus of 500,000 VND/day.
In an exchange with Tien Phong, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ngoc – Deputy Head of the Management Board of Industrial Zones in Bac Giang province – said that there are 27 companies registered to work during Tet in industrial zones in Bac Giang province, with more than 5,000 workers.
Companies that work during Tet are mainly foreign direct investment (FDI) businesses, focusing on solar cell production, electronics, and import-export. Workers working during Tet enjoy regulations and policies, such as a 300% increase in salary, and lucky money for the new year.
Mr. Ngoc added that the number of companies and workers working during Tet in industrial zones in Bac Giang province is equivalent to last year. Many companies operating during Tet to meet orders is a positive sign for production activities in industrial zones in Bac Giang province at the beginning of the year. Immediately after the Tet holiday, companies in industrial zones in Bac Giang province returned to normal operations, with a workforce of about 195,000 workers.
