According to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, on February 14th, the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday in 2024, the airport will welcome and serve a record number of people returning to Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces for work.
Specifically, it is expected that there will be 934 flights arriving and departing with nearly 148,000 passengers. Among them, the domestic terminal will have a total of approximately 325 departures and 327 arrivals. However, there will only be over 34,200 passengers for departures while there will be over 66,000 passengers for arrivals.
Therefore, the number of passengers arriving in Ho Chi Minh City is nearly double the number of passengers departing from Tan Son Nhat Airport to other destinations.
The busiest hours for arrivals at the domestic terminal of Tan Son Nhat Airport are from 9-11 am with over 3,500 passengers per hour, and from 11 pm to midnight with over 5,200 passengers per hour. This is a record number of passengers arriving at this airport in one hour during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Given the high demand for air travel on the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, Tan Son Nhat Flight Operation Center has requested all operating units at the airport to regularly monitor the actual situation and implement appropriate solutions to ensure security, safety, and quality of service.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport has been closely coordinating with airlines to update flight schedules, resources, ground equipment, and passenger services. At the same time, it is strengthening coordination with Southern Airports Authority and other functional forces to ensure security, safety, and traffic order.
