Top 1,000 Billion Localities for Tet Holiday Tourism

Ho Chi Minh City

According to the report by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department, during the Tet holiday in 2024, visitors to tourist areas, entertainment venues, and services are estimated to reach about 1.8 million people, an increase of 5.9% compared to the same period last year.

The number of international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City during the Tet holiday in 2024 is estimated to reach about 75,000 people, an increase of 15.4% compared to the same period last year. The estimated revenue is about 6,550 billion VND, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year.

Hanoi

The Hanoi Tourism Department announced that during the 7-day Tet holiday in 2024 (from February 8th to February 14th, which is from the 29th of the last lunar month to the 5th of the first lunar month), Hanoi is estimated to welcome 653,000 visitors, an increase of 21.6% compared to the same period last year. The total revenue from tourists is estimated to be 2,350 billion VND, an increase of 35.1% compared to the same period in 2023.

Da Nang

The Da Nang Tourism Department announced that the total number of visitors to Da Nang during the Tet holiday in 2024 is estimated to reach about 402,000 people, an increase of 37% compared to the same period in 2023. Among them, the number of international visitors is estimated to be nearly 177,000. The total tourism revenue is estimated to be about 1,580 billion VND.

Kien Giang

According to the statistics of the Kien Giang Tourism Department, during the period from the 29th day of the Lunar New Year to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, there were more than 335,000 visitors to Kien Giang for the Lunar New Year celebrations. Among them, there were more than 281,000 domestic visitors and more than 53,500 international visitors. The total revenue is estimated to be more than 1,122 billion VND.

Other Provinces with High Tourism Revenue

Khanh Hoa

According to the data, the total number of visitors to Khanh Hoa for sightseeing and vacationing from February 9th to February 13th (from the 30th day of the lunar month to the 4th day of the Lunar New Year) reached 631,488 people (an increase of over 146% compared to the same period); the average room occupancy rate of accommodation facilities was nearly 80%. Some centrally located hotels and 4 to 5-star resorts by the beach had an occupancy rate of over 90%. The total tourism revenue is estimated to be 879.5 billion VND.

Ninh Binh

The Ninh Binh Tourism Department announced that during the 7-day Tet holiday in 2024 (from the 29th day to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 600,000 visitors, an increase of 50.1% compared to the Tet holiday in 2023, including over 115,000 international visitors, an increase of 3.9 times compared to the same period in 2023. The estimated revenue is over 700 billion VND, an increase of 27.3% compared to the Tet holiday in 2023.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau

The Ba Ria – Vung Tau Tourism Department announced that the number of visitors to the province for spring vacation and entertainment during the first few days of the New Year has been continuously increasing.

Accordingly, the total number of visitors to tourist attractions, entertainment venues, and accommodation facilities throughout the province from February 10th to February 14th (from the 1st day to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year) is around 684,114 people, an increase of 2.23% compared to the Tet holiday in 2023 (about 669,211 people). The estimated tourism revenue is about 558 billion VND, an increase of 3.73% compared to the Tet holiday in 2023. The average room occupancy rate during the 5-day Tet holiday is about 80% – 85%.

Can Tho

The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Can Tho City announced that during the Tet holiday in 2024, from February 8th (the 29th day of the lunar month) to February 14th (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), the total number of visitors to Can Tho City is estimated to be about 398,000 people, an increase of 8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Among them, the number of staying tourists is estimated to be about 104,000 people, an increase of 10% compared to the same period in 2023; the number of international staying tourists is estimated to be about 4,100 people, an increase of 41% compared to the same period in 2023. The average room occupancy rate at accommodation facilities is about 84%. The total tourism revenue is estimated to be 415 billion VND, an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2023.

Ha Giang

According to the data from the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Ha Giang Province on February 13th, during the Tet holiday in 2024, the number of visitors to tourist attractions in the province reached 141,200 people, an increase of 64% compared to the same period in 2023. The total tourism revenue is estimated to be over 350 billion VND.
