Today (February 14th, the 5th day of Lunar New Year), on the last day of the Tet holiday, most stores in shopping centers, restaurants, and eateries have resumed operations. The shopping center on Pham Ngoc Thach Street (Hanoi) is relatively empty during lunchtime on the 5th day of Tet.

The children’s play area is not too crowded, and it is a popular entertainment destination for families with young children during the holiday. The ticket prices remain the same as usual.

The spring fashion stores are quite empty, contrasting the bustling shopping atmosphere before Tet. Today is also Valentine’s Day (February 14th), but the purchasing power is not significantly different. While the fashion stores in shopping centers have reopened, many street stores remain closed.

The restaurants in shopping centers along Le Van Luong Street are also empty. Many restaurant chains do not apply surcharges for the Tet holiday and maintain regular prices. Some even offer additional perks for advance table reservations.

Customers don’t even need advance table reservations. Ms. Ngoc Ha (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) said that on the 5th day of Tet, she and her group had a meal at a hotpot buffet restaurant and were pleasantly surprised that they didn’t have to wait. The restaurant had many empty tables, and there were plenty of staff, despite still being during the Tet holiday.

The cafés are crowded. With favorable weather during Tet, cafés with outdoor spaces are attracting customers.

The café guards are busy parking cars and serving new batches of customers.
