The Quang Ninh Province Committee recently held a conference to discuss the implementation of activities during the 2024 Lunar New Year and provide feedback on important matters.
The report presented during the meeting showed that the Lunar New Year activities in Quang Ninh Province were organized effectively and in accordance with the directions of the Central Committee. The activities aimed to ensure safety, healthiness, cost-effectiveness, and to create a new atmosphere and energy. During the Lunar New Year period, the province mobilized significant social resources to support and take care of the poor and near-poor households. Nearly 343,000 gift packages were distributed to the beneficiaries. Social security policies, along with the promotion of unity and compassion among the people, were effectively implemented at all levels and in various meaningful forms.

Visual and media communication activities were intensified and widely spread among the people. Cultural and entertainment activities were organized in a vibrant and diverse manner in various localities within the province. Tourism activities were effectively implemented to ensure satisfaction among tourists visiting Quang Ninh during the Lunar New Year.
During the holiday period, Quang Ninh welcomed over 800,000 tourists, including nearly 110,000 international visitors who mainly visited popular tourist destinations such as Ha Long Bay, museums, and the Mong Cai border gate. Despite the significant increase in tourist arrivals, all services met the demand and left a positive impression on tourists.
Efforts were made to ensure crime prevention, traffic safety, food safety, and fire and explosion prevention. Strict adherence to the guidelines from the Central Committee and the province was observed to manage and supervise the organization of activities. Market goods during the Lunar New Year were closely monitored to prevent smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and poor-quality items, for the benefit of the people’s joyful and safe celebrations. Special attention was given to healthcare and food hygiene to prevent any abnormal situations.
The experience learned from Quang Ninh’s achievements suggests that effective leadership and direction focused on grassroots and the people were crucial. The province conducted timely and resolute inspections, supervision, and motivation to ensure effective implementation while encouraging engagement and support. The comprehensive strength of the entire political system in the province was mobilized to take care of the people during the Lunar New Year. The province also promoted its cultural traditions to enrich Quang Ninh’s cultural identity during the festive season. Experience in controlling alcohol and beer consumption, preventing unauthorized production, transport, and use of fireworks, and ensuring traffic safety were also taken into account.
At the peak of the 2024 Lunar New Year activities, economic and social activities have returned to normal. There was no disruption of work, no missed appointments with businesses and people, and no negative impact on production, business activities, or people’s interests. The Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Province Committee requested departments, agencies, and localities to strictly implement their commitments and achieve the highest targets and objectives for economic and social development, under the theme of “Promoting the quality of economic growth; developing culture, and enriching the unique identity of Quang Ninh.”
High concentration and utilization of each day, including holidays, were employed to provide maximum support and resolve difficulties, aiming to attract new generations of foreign direct investment into industrial parks and economic zones. Efforts were made to ensure the disbursement of capital for registered projects, especially for approved foreign direct investment projects. Conditions were created for businesses to increase their capacity, productivity, and output. Determined efforts were made to increase the ratio, volume, quality, and efficiency of capital disbursement in the first quarter of 2024. Significant progress has been made in the implementation and completion of key transportation projects. Promotion programs were further enhanced to attract tourists from the early festivals and to strengthen state management of festivals, beliefs, and religious activities.
