The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) has recently sent a letter to the Northern Power Projects Management Board (NPMB), the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB), consulting and supervising contractors, and construction contractors of the special 500kV transmission line project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi regarding the need for round-the-clock construction in 3 shifts, 4 teams for this highly important project.

According to EVNNPT, the construction and completion of the Quang Trach – Quynh Luu 500kV transmission line, the Quynh Luu – Thanh Hoa 500kV transmission line, the Nam Dinh 1 thermal power plant – Thanh Hoa 500kV transmission line, and the Nam Dinh 1 thermal power plant – Pho Noi 500kV transmission line are being accelerated to meet the deadline set by the Prime Minister in June 2024.

During the site inspection, it has been found that many construction contractors are behind schedule and slow in executing foundation digging activities after receiving the site premises. Despite having received the premises, the contractors have not mobilized the pile driving machines for construction.

Due to the tight schedules of the remaining projects and in order to ensure the progress of electrical closure according to the Prime Minister’s directions, EVNNPT urgently requests all construction contractors to promptly and seriously carry out the construction and make use of all the premises that have been handed over.

The construction work will be carried out in continuous 3-shift, 4-team operations, 24/7 until the completion of the projects, ensuring real and effective implementation.

The consulting and supervising contractors are required to strengthen their workforce and improve the awareness and responsibility of their supervisory staff on-site in order to ensure the quality of the work, review the list of contractors behind schedule, and promptly report to the Project Management Boards for appropriate solutions.

In the event that construction contractors continue to lag behind schedule without seriously carrying out the construction work and without organizing 3 shifts, 4 teams, and 24/7 operations, the project management units will impose sanctions according to the provisions of the signed contracts. This may include contract termination for non-compliant contractors, and the selection of alternative contractors with sufficient capacity to meet the project schedules.

The Director-General of EVNNPT has assigned Vice-Directors of EVNNPT with the tasks of continuing to urge and closely control the progress and timely resolve any arising issues of the projects.
