In the draft plan of Restructuring associated with handling bad debts in the 2021-2025 period recently announced by Techcombank, the bank stated that after moving its headquarters from 191 Ba Trieu, Hanoi to 6 Quang Trung, Hanoi, Techcombank has actively sought partners to take over this real estate. As a result, Techcombank has found a partner in Truong Thinh Company and the two sides are now actively completing the transfer of the property at 191 Ba Trieu. However, Techcombank did not disclose detailed information about Truong Thinh Company.

Prior to that, Techcombank’s consolidated financial statement for the first quarter of 2023 showed that the bank’s income from other activities increased by 116% compared to the same period and reached VND 1,057 billion. In particular, the extraordinary income came from the sale of the bank’s investment real estate.

Specifically, the income from the sale of investment real estate in the first quarter of 2023 reached VND 1,775 billion and the cost of selling investment real estate was VND 1,044 billion. Previously, in the first quarter of 2022, the bank did not record any income or expense from this activity.

Techcombank has recorded a profit of VND 730 billion from the sale of the old headquarters building Techcombank Tower at Ba Trieu in the first quarter of 2023. The recognition of unusual income from the sale of the old headquarters building has contributed positively to Techcombank’s business results for the first quarter and the whole year of 2023.

It is known that this building was formerly Vincom Bà Trieu Tower, which Techcombank acquired from Vingroup in 2011 and then renamed Techcombank Tower, which the bank used as its head office from 2012 to 2022.

At the beginning of 2023, Techcombank also announced that it had officially moved its headquarters to a new address. Specifically, the bank’s headquarters location was changed from 191 Ba Trieu, Le Dai Hanh Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi to the new headquarters at 6 Quang Trung Street, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

The new headquarters building has a prime location in the city center, with 2 facades facing Quang Trung Street crossing Ly Thuong Kiet in Hoan Kiem District.

In the past 30 years, Techcombank has changed its headquarters several times. In 1993, the bank was established with its headquarters at 24 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hanoi. In 1998, the bank moved to a building at 15 Dao Duy Tu Street. In 2006, Techcombank “moved house” to 72 Ba Trieu and then sold this building to VietBank in 2012. After that, the bank moved to 191 Ba Trieu to meet the larger workforce scale and until now, it continues to have a new headquarters at 6 Quang Trung Street.
