In Japan, it is a luxury car, more expensive than the Land Cruiser
Unlike in Australia or Southeast Asia, where pickups are practical vehicles, Japan is a market where pickups are “luxury cars”: Only people with good economic conditions can afford them instead of “national” kei cars.

According to information on the Legal Life newspaper, the new generation Mitsubishi Triton has a starting price of 4.98 million yen in Japan, equivalent to 814.8 million VND. This starting price is higher than the sporty GR Sport version of the Toyota Hilux (4.3 million yen – 703.7 million VND). The high-end GSR configuration that 90% of new generation Triton buyers choose is even more expensive than the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 (5.4 versus 5.1 million yen – 883.7 versus 834.6 million VND).
However, when it comes to Vietnam, with a listed price starting from 630 million VND, the price of the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is quite competitive compared to its competitors in the pickup segment.

The Mitsubishi Triton is one of the most popular pickup trucks on the market, with outstanding design features, technical specifications, and operating capabilities along with its own unique advantages and disadvantages.

The Triton has a strong and sporty exterior design with the characteristic “Dynamic Shield” grille of Mitsubishi. Although this Japanese giant still ranks below its competing rivals in the pickup truck segment such as the Ford Ranger or Toyota Hilux, it can be said that the Mitsubishi Triton still has a certain position in the world market as well as in Vietnam.
