Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Director of the Agricultural Technical Center of Moc Chau district, said that Moc Chau and Son La strawberries have a delicious taste. The main market is Hanoi and Northern provinces.
With the goal of developing the strawberry-growing region and linking production with consumption, applying advanced technology to produce safe products, Son La Agriculture sector has introduced and promoted VietGAP and organic farming practices, implemented food safety regulations, and used plant protection products following “4 principles” to ensure high-quality, clean, and safe strawberries to gain consumer trust.
“The Agricultural Technical Center has also researched and issued guidance on strawberry production processes. They have sent officers to visit production facilities and households to sign commitments and provide technical guidance on farming practices and the use of pesticides on strawberry plants. Farmers can rely on the guidance documents and instructions provided by the center to ensure safe and high-quality strawberry production for the market,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa.
The Department of Science and Technology in Son La is currently working on the application process for registering the certification trademark “Son La Strawberries” according to the regulations of Intellectual Property Law.
Once registered and implemented, the management system for the certified trademark will enhance the competitiveness and value of Son La strawberries. This will also be an important basis for the product to participate in the value chain, gradually increasing the income for organizations and individuals involved in strawberry production and business locally.
