The Ministry of Industry and Trade has received information that the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has extended the deadline for issuing the final determination on the scope of the product investigation; the deadline for issuing the preliminary determination and final determination on the countervailing duty investigation (applicable to China) for imported wooden cabinets from Vietnam.

According to the announcement by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the final determination on the scope of the product investigation is expected to be issued on April 5, 2024.

For the countervailing duty investigation, DOC has also extended the deadline for issuing the preliminary determination and final determination of the case to April 19 and July 18, 2024, respectively.

The product scope and countervailing duty investigations were initiated by the U.S. Department of Commerce in May and June 2022, respectively.

In September 2023, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued a revision notice to the preliminary determination in March 2023, which listed 3 cases of imported wooden cabinets from Vietnam with parts produced in China falling within the scope of the original anti-dumping duty against China.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from April 2020 to date, the United States has imposed anti-dumping and countervailing duties on wooden cabinets originating from China, with anti-dumping duties ranging from 4.37% to 262.18% and countervailing duties ranging from 13.33% to 293.45%./.
