On March 2, news from the Danang delegation in the US stated that they recently collaborated with the Oregon state government and Portland University to organize a seminar on investment in Danang in the fields of semiconductor fabrication and artificial intelligence.

The seminar was held as part of the Danang delegation’s working visit to the US, led by Vice Chairman of the Danang People’s Committee, Ho Ky Minh.
In addition to local authorities and universities, the seminar was also attended by representatives from major semiconductor companies such as Synopsys, Ampere, Microchip, and Intel.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Ho Ky Minh stated that this US trip continued the success of the Danang delegation’s visit in November 2023, led by the Secretary of the Danang Party Committee, Nguyen Van Quang.
The purpose of this delegation’s visit was to establish broader and deeper connections with partners who are interested in promoting cooperation and investment in the fields of semiconductor fabrication and artificial intelligence in Danang.
According to Mr. Le Hoang Phuc, Director of the Danang Center for Integrated Circuit Design and Artificial Intelligence, the city has been highly interested in becoming a talent training center for the semiconductor fabrication and artificial intelligence industries.

Danang is focusing on developing the infrastructure for semiconductor fabrication, including a semiconductor chip development plan and specific steps and policies to attract experts and investors to work and cooperate in this industry,” said Mr. Phuc.
The seminar consisted of two discussion sessions on training and investment attraction in the fields of semiconductor fabrication and artificial intelligence.
Many delegates proposed that Danang and Oregon collaborate in the field of education by organizing short-term courses, faculty and student exchanges between Vietnam and Oregon.
Oregon delegates emphasized that the semiconductor fabrication field should be approached based on human resources, and highlighted that this is the golden opportunity for Danang to seize opportunities for cooperation and development in this area.
Oregon also believed that with the existing conditions and determination of the Danang government, the city has the potential to realize the vision of building a “Silicon Beach” similar to the “Silicon Valley” in the US.
