On the morning of March 2nd, domestic gold prices skyrocketed and set a new record. The selling price of SJC gold officially surpassed the 81 million VND per tael mark, the highest ever.

As of noon on March 2, at 11:15 a.m., the SJC gold price continues to reach a new high, surpassing 81 million dong per tael.

Specifically, Saigon Jewelry, Gemstone and Precious Metal Corporation has raised the SJC gold price to 78.5-81 million dong per tael, an increase of 1.5 million dong per tael compared to yesterday. DOJI Group also continues to increase to 78.45-80.95 million dong per tael.

Solid gold prices are also rising sharply, with some places reaching nearly 68 million dong per tael. Currently, Bao Tin Minh Chau lists at 66.72-67.92 million dong per tael. DOJI Group applies prices of 66.5-67.6 million dong per tael.

In the international market, the gold price last night (March 1, Vietnam time) increased from $2,045/ounce to nearly $2,090/ounce. At 9:30 a.m. (March 2, Vietnam time), the international gold price stood at $2,083/ounce.

Converted according to the USD/VND exchange rate at commercial banks, the international gold price is equivalent to 62.5 million dong per tael (excluding taxes and fees). While estimated according to the USD exchange rate in the free market, the international gold price is equivalent to about 64.5 million dong per tael (excluding taxes and fees).

Precious metals are strongly increasing, to the surprise of analysts. New inflation data shows that the Federal Reserve (FED) may not be able to cut interest rates in March and is more likely to do so in the second half of 2024. The DXY index, which measures the strength of the USD against 6 major currencies, is still maintaining around 104 points.
