DEVELOPING DEEP INDUSTRY
Vinh Phuc, strategically located with key transportation routes such as roads, railways, and waterways connecting regions and the economic corridor of Haiphong – Hanoi – Lao Cai – Cong Minh, is one of the important satellite cities and the gateway to the northwest of the capital city of Hanoi.
According to the province’s 2021-2030 development plan with a vision to 2050, Vinh Phuc focuses on innovative growth models and utilizes all investment resources to develop potential sectors and fields, aiming for an average annual GRDP growth rate of about 10.5-11% during the 2021-2030 period. The average per capita GRDP by 2030 is expected to reach about 325 million VND; the average annual labor productivity growth rate during the 2021-2030 period is estimated at about 13%; urbanization rate of about 65%, and achieving the criteria of Type I urban areas province-wide.
Vinh Phuc will develop deep industries, making breakthroughs in productivity improvement such as manufacturing electronic products, industrial support products, developing foundational industries, high-standard food processing and beverage production, and promoting tourism as a key economic sector. Vinh Phuc will also create favorable conditions for the development of modern transportation, warehouses, and logistics.
Following this direction, Vinh Phuc will develop three economic corridors, three growth clusters, and one dynamic axis.
The economic corridors include the dynamic southeast economic corridor (a multifunctional economic corridor and the driving force of the province’s development, linking Vinh Tuong – Yen Lac – Binh Xuyen – Phuc Yen areas, while enhancing economic activities with Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, etc.), the northern tourism and resort development corridor (running along the Tam Dao mountain range, extending to the Van Truc Lake area towards the Lo River), and the western riverside development corridor (connecting the districts of Yen Lac – Vinh Tuong – Lap Thach – Lo River).
The three growth clusters consist of Vinh Yen (the central growth cluster for economic and urban development, playing an important role in promoting socio-economic development), Phuc Yen (the southeast growth cluster for industrial and service development), and Binh Xuyen (the industrial growth cluster).
As for the dynamic North-South axis, the plan highlights the Tam Dao – Vinh Yen – Yen Lac link to Hanoi.
BUILDING A ROADMAP FOR BREAKTHROUGHS
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hung Ha affirmed that the Vinh Phuc Provincial Plan is built with breakthrough thinking, long-term vision, based on distinct potentials, outstanding opportunities, and competitive advantages, reflecting the desire for prosperity and a better life. Vinh Phuc will play a role as one of the development clusters and the nucleus driving the development of modern industry in the Red River Delta region, being one of the three growth clusters of the capital city region of Hanoi. The plan will open up new opportunities and development space for Vinh Phuc province.
Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to urgently develop a deployment roadmap, determine the focus, progress, and resources to implement programs and projects in the plan; review, establish, adjust, and implement detailed, specialized, and zoning plans to ensure consistency and coordination with the provincial plan.
Alongside this, Vinh Phuc should publicly announce and promote plans to attract social resources, especially to enable the people to exercise their right to supervise the implementation of plans and allow investors to access and implement approved spatial plans through programs and projects.
The province needs to enhance cooperation and linkages in economic development with other provinces and cities in the capital city region, prioritizing investment in dynamic and impactful projects directly contributing to the goals of socio-economic development, with significant spillover effects, including projects creating new development spaces and new driving forces, promoting the province’s development towards modernity and sustainability…
