Central Inspection Committee proposes disciplinary action against former Chairman of Phu Yen Province, Pham Dinh Cu.

Pham Dinh Cu, former Chairman of Phu Yen province, has been recommended for disciplinary action by the Central Inspection Commission for his political ideology degradation, moral corruption, and violation of the law.

During the 37th session from March 6-8, 2024, the Central Inspection Committee reviewed the proposals from the Party committees of Phu Yen, Gia Lai, and Ha Giang provinces regarding the discipline of Party members who violated the rules.

The Central Inspection Committee held its 37th session in Hanoi from March 6-8, 2024.

The Central Inspection Committee found that the following individuals: Pham Dinh Cu, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Affairs Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Yen province; Nguyen Tu Son, former Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province; Nguyen The Binh, Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang province had deviated from the political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, violated the rules of what Party members should not do and the responsibility of setting an example; violated the regulations of the Party and the laws of the State in the performance of their assigned duties, causing serious consequences, public outrage, and negatively impacting the reputation of the Party organization and local government agencies.

Based on the Party’s regulations, the Central Inspection Committee recommended the Party Central Committee to consider and enforce disciplinary actions against Mr. Pham Dinh Cu, Mr. Nguyen Tu Son, and Mr. Nguyen The Binh.

The Party Affairs Committee of the Provincial People’s Court of Kon Tum province violated the principles of democratic centralism.

Also at this session, the Central Inspection Committee reviewed the inspection results which identified signs of violations by the Party Affairs Committee of the People’s Court at Kon Tum province.

The Central Inspection Committee found that the Party Affairs Committee of the People’s Court at Kon Tum province had violated the principles of democratic centralism and the working regulations and personnel work; was irresponsible, lax in leadership and management, which led to the violation of the Party’s regulations, the laws of the State, and the regulations of the judicial system in the trial work; applied lenient laws and mitigating circumstances, suspended, postponed the implementation of sentences, which were not appropriate for the nature and severity of the offenses committed; canceled or amended many verdicts contrary to the laws and regulations.

These violations and shortcomings have had serious consequences, negative public opinion, and have affected the work of fighting crime and protecting the law, as well as the reputation of the Party organization and the People’s Court of Kon Tum province, to the extent that disciplinary actions need to be considered and taken.

The responsibility for these violations and shortcomings lies with the Party Affairs Committee of the People’s Court of Kon Tum province in the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 terms, as well as with Mr. Do Thi Kim Thu, Secretary of the Party Affairs Committee and Chief Justice; Mr. Nguyen Tien Tang, Party Affairs Committee member and Deputy Chief Justice of the Provincial People’s Court.

In relation to the mentioned violations and shortcomings, there is also the responsibility of some Party organizations and Party members in the Party Committee of Kon Tum province.

The Central Inspection Committee requested the Standing Committee of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee to seriously review and deeply learn from the identified violations and shortcomings, and promptly rectify them; direct the inspection and evaluation of the responsibilities of the organizations and individuals involved in these violations and shortcomings and report the results to the Central Inspection Committee.

The Central Inspection Committee also reviewed the supervision results on the Party Affairs Committee and the Party Affairs Committee members of the Ministry of Justice.

The Central Inspection Committee found that, in addition to their basic strengths, the Party Affairs Committee and the Party Affairs Committee members of the Ministry of Justice had some violations, shortcomings, and limitations in leadership, direction of construction, and organization of work; work with official personnel; execution of civil judgments; construction of laws, monitoring the implementation of laws; inspection of legal normative documents, judicial records, legal auxiliary work; resolution of international investment disputes; implementation of investment projects; declaration of assets and income.

The Central Inspection Committee requested the Party Affairs Committee and the Party Affairs Committee members of the Ministry of Justice to promote their strengths, promptly lead and direct the review, learn from, rectify the identified violations and shortcomings, and report the results to the Central Inspection Committee.
