Railway Safety System Assessment for Nhổn – Hanoi Station

The Vietnam Railways has recently decided to establish a review committee for the safety documentation of the urban railway system from Nhon to Hanoi Station. It is expected that by the end of June this year, the safety certification and inspection of the system will be completed to be handed over to the investor and for commercial operation by the Hanoi Railway Joint Stock Company.

Accordingly, the assessment team consists of 9 members led by Mr. Duong Hong Anh – Deputy Director of the Vietnam Railway Agency.

The team is responsible for leading the safety assessment of the Nhon – Hanoi Urban Railway project, as well as assessing the safety system evaluation report of the certification organization for content related to information system-signal on vehicles and on the track; traction power supply system, platform screen doors (if any); integrated system assessment, test operation evaluation, system trial run evaluation, safety management system evaluation; emergency passenger evacuation plan…

The assessment team will consolidate the assessment notices and reports from the Investment Management Agency, Vietnam Register and the assessment results of the assessment team to advise the Director of the Vietnam Railway Agency for consideration and issuance of the certification of safety assessment of urban railway system according to regulations.

The trial operation of the Nhon – Hanoi Urban Railway aerial section will be completed by the end of April.

According to the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB), the overall progress of the Nhon – Hanoi Urban Railway has reached 77.76% (the progress of the elevated section is 99.65%, the underground section is 37.25%).

The trial operation of the Nhon – Hanoi Urban Railway aerial section will be completed by the end of April.

By the end of June this year, the certification of the safety system, acceptance testing and handover by the investor and state management agencies will be completed to be handed over to the Hanoi Railway Company for commercial operation.

Currently, 50 train drivers of the Hanoi Railway Company have been summoned for final training under the guidance of Systra consultants.
