24k plain gold ring prices also surged today, reaching nearly 70 million dong per tael. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, this type of gold is being quoted at 68.58-69.78 million dong per tael. Saigon Jewelry and Gemstone is applying a range of 67.85-69.1 million dong per tael.
So from the beginning of the week until now, SJC gold prices have increased by about 2 million dong per tael, while plain gold ring prices have also risen by 2.5 million dong per tael.
On the international market, gold prices surged yesterday (March 8th) and reached a record high of $2,195 per ounce. As of this morning (March 9th), spot gold prices were at $2,178 per ounce. Converted at the USD/VND exchange rate of commercial banks, international gold prices are equivalent to 65.5 million dong per tael (excluding taxes and fees). Meanwhile, estimated at the USD exchange rate on the free market, international gold prices are equivalent to around 67 million dong per tael (excluding taxes and fees).
