Daughters of ACB founder Tran Mong Hung
As you are already aware, the current Chairman of Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), Tran Hung Huy, is the son of the founder Tran Mong Hung and Mrs. Dang Thu Thuy (a member of the ACB Board of Directors).
In addition to Mr. Huy, the second generation of the ACB family also includes a very low-profile daughter named Tran Dang Thao. Ms. Thao does not hold any position at ACB.
Ms. Thao only “appears” in ACB management reports as the “related person” of many senior executives of the bank.
Ms. Thao’s name was mentioned in the media in early March 2019 when she completed an agreement to sell 2 million ACB shares. Since then, she has not held any shares in the family’s bank.
Prior to this transaction, Ms. Tran Dang Thu Thao transferred more than 12.7 million shares to Van Mon Investment and Commerce Joint Stock Company. At the same time, Mr. Tran Mong Hung transferred nearly 23 million shares to Giang Sen Investment and Commerce Joint Stock Company; Mr. Tran Minh Hoang (second son of Mr. Hung) transferred more than 16 million shares to Bach Thanh Investment and Commerce Joint Stock Company. The total number of shares transferred was more than 51.7 million.
Regarding this transaction, Chairman of ACB Tran Hung Huy said that this was only a restructuring of ownership and investment within the family, and no shares were sold to the market.
According to the 2023 ACB Management Report, there are currently only two shareholders in the family of ACB founder Tran Mong Hung. Chairman Tran Hung Huy holds more than 133 million shares, equivalent to 3.43%, and Mrs. Dang Thu Thuy holds 46.39 million shares (1.19%).
Daughter of Novaland Chairman
Bui Cao Ngoc Quynh is the only daughter of Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon and Mrs. Cao Thi Ngoc Suong. However, Ms. Ngoc Quynh is less mentioned compared to her brother Bui Cao Nhat Quan.
Bui Cao Ngoc Quynh has never appeared in public and does not participate in the management of Novaland. Therefore, the daughter of Chairman Bui Thanh Nhon is known through the company’s management report.
According to the 2023 management report, as of December 31, 2023, Ms. Ngoc Quynh owns nearly 24.7 million NVL shares, equivalent to 1.265% of the company’s capital. Meanwhile, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhon and Mrs. Cao Thi Ngoc Suong hold nearly 96.8 million and 50.75 million shares respectively, equivalent to 5% and 2.602% of NVL’s charter capital.
The son of Mr. Nhon, Mr. Bui Cao Nhat Quan, also holds more than 4% of Novaland shares (over 78.2 million NVL shares).
In 2023, Ms. Ngoc Quynh also became the dominant shareholder in several other companies, including West Lake Real Estate Investment Development Corporation (10/5/2023), Blue Ivy Company Limited (2/2/2023), NSQ Development Investment Joint Stock Company (2/2/2023), Western Land Investment Joint Stock Company (2/2/2023), and Open Land Investment and Development Corporation (2/2/2023).
In addition, Ms. Bui Cao Ngoc Quynh is also known as a co-founder of Diamond Properties Joint Stock Company, the second largest shareholder in Novaland after Novagroup.
As of December 31, 2023, after several capital disinvestments and foreclosure sales, Diamond Properties only owns 176.4 million NVL shares, equivalent to 9.046% of NVL’s capital.
This is a company in which all 4 members of Mr. Nhon’s family are co-founders. Ms. Quynh also participates in some activities of Diamond Properties.
According to the amendment registration in December 2021, the company’s charter capital is more than 279 billion VND; Mrs. Cao Thi Ngoc Suong is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the legal representative.
Four daughters of “king of shrimp” Minh Phu
Wife and husband Mrs. Chu Thi Binh – Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (MCK: MPC, UPCoM) and Mr. Le Van Quang – CEO of MPC have a total of 4 daughters.
Among them, the eldest daughter Le Thi Dinh Minh is better known due to her role as Deputy CEO of MPC. Ms. Dinh Minh is also the daughter with the largest number of shares in the family’s company, holding over 13 million shares (3.27%) of MPC.
The remaining three daughters of Chairman Chu Thi Binh are Le Thi Minh Phu, Le Thi Minh Qui, and Le Thi Minh Ngoc, who do not participate in the management of the company. However, these three individuals hold shares in the company through transfers in 2023.
According to the 2023 management report of Minh Phu Seafood, Ms. Le Thi Minh Phu owns 24,180 shares (0.006%), Le Thi Minh Qui owns 1.12 million shares (0.282%), and Le Thi Minh Ngoc holds over 9.2 million shares (2.308%).
All four daughters of the “king of shrimp” Minh Phu are quite private and do not appear in the media. Deputy CEO Le Thi Dinh Minh has a few images posted on the company’s website.
Second daughter of Biti’s Chairman
Wife and husband of Biti’s co-founders Vu Khai Thanh and Mrs. Lai Khiem have two daughters and a son. Among them, the eldest daughter Vu Le Quyen is currently the CEO and legal representative of Biti’s.
The other daughter, Vu Le Minh, is more low-key and works in designing products under the family’s brand. While the older sister is actively involved in business operations, Vu Le Minh focuses on her specialization and has never appeared in public.
It is known that all members of Mr. Vu Khai Thanh’s family currently hold shares in the company. According to the January 2022 update, Binh Tien Co., Ltd. has a charter capital of 836.8 billion VND. Mr. Vu Khai Thanh owns 29.65%, Mrs. Lai Khiem owns 27.25%, Vu Le Quyen and her two siblings each hold 10%, and 6 other individual shareholders.
Vice Chairman of Nam Cuong Group
Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc is the daughter of the late businessman Tran Van Cuong and the current Chairman of Nam Cuong Group, Mrs. Le Thi Thuy Nga (born in 1966, Mr. Cuong’s wife).
The daughter of the Chairman of Nam Cuong Group was born in 1990 and spent 8 years studying Economic Geography in the UK. She is better known for shouldering the family business and became the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nam Cuong Group at the age of 20.
Tran Thi Quynh Ngoc also used to hold shares in the company. In 2014, Ms. Ngoc, as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, owned 11.11% of the shares – with an approximate value of 500 billion VND.
According to the December 2016 business registration update, Nam Cuong Group increased its charter capital from 2,250 billion VND to 4,500 billion VND. The shareholder structure includes Mrs. Le Thi Thuy Nga with 94%, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Quynh with 3%, and Ms. Tran Oanh (who has transferred all shares).
As of October 21, 2021, the company reduced its charter capital to 4,050 billion VND. Nearly two weeks later, on November 2, 2021, the charter capital was increased back to 4,500 billion VND and has remained the same. At this time, the shareholder structure is not disclosed.
