The People’s Committee of Phu Quoc City has recently issued a notice to relocate aquaculture farms, water vessels, and fishing boats out of the entrance channel and the water area of the Phu Quoc International Passenger Port.
According to the People’s Committee of Phu Quoc City, the relocation is necessary to ensure the progress of the construction of the Phu Quoc International Passenger Port, which is scheduled to be inaugurated on March 25th. The relocation must be completed before March 20th.
Previously, Tien Phong has reported that the investment project for the construction of the Phu Quoc International Passenger Port was approved in March 2015, followed by the groundbreaking ceremony one month later, with a total investment of over 1,644 billion VND. The investor’s capital accounts for 30% while the local budget contributes 70%. The project is scheduled to be implemented from 2015 to 2025. So far, the project has disbursed over 1,069 billion VND, reaching over 80% of the project’s volume.
The new port bridge has the capacity to accommodate passenger ships carrying from 5,000 to 6,000 passengers and cargo ships from the front; at the back of the dock, it can receive smaller passenger ships or container ships, and general cargo ships with a load capacity of 20,000 DWT…
