VinFast recently announced an official agreement with the Jospong Group of Companies, a leading diversified group in Ghana, for the distribution of electric vehicles in the Ghanaian and West African markets. This agreement marks VinFast’s presence in Africa and affirms the pioneering position of the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer in the global green transportation revolution.

As part of the agreement, Jospong will distribute VinFast’s electric cars, electric motorcycles, electric bicycles, and electric buses in the Ghanaian and West African markets. Jospong also plans to deploy public charging infrastructure nationwide to promote the development of electric vehicles in the country.

By partnering with one of the largest diversified business groups in West Africa, VinFast reaffirms its commitment to bringing global consumers green and intelligent transportation options, while exploring the potential of Africa’s growing electric vehicle market.

Jospong Group operates in 14 sectors across African and Asian countries, with 60 subsidiary companies, including prominent businesses in the automotive industry, waste management, information technology, and banking.

In addition to the vehicle distribution agreement, Vingroup, a leading diversified private corporation in Vietnam and the parent company of VinFast, has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jospong to establish a priority partnership. The two parties will actively collaborate on business opportunities in important areas such as electric vehicles, taxis, public transportation, education, hotels, real estate development, and more.

Mr. Joseph Agyepong, CEO of the Jospong Group, stated: “We are impressed by Vingroup’s contributions to the global green revolution, particularly in the electrification of transportation and VinFast’s diverse range of electric vehicle products. We are honored to accompany Vingroup and VinFast in their global expansion, as we strive to create a more sustainable and beautiful future together.”

Mr. Tran Viet Anh, a representative of VinFast, shared: “Ghana is a market with great potential and ample room for growth in the electric vehicle sector. We are honored to collaborate with one of Ghana’s leading diversified conglomerates in our journey to promote green transportation and a sustainable future. With flexible sales policies and a diverse product range from bicycles to cars, we aim to quickly expand in the rapidly developing electric vehicle market of the region, with a commitment to making electrification accessible to everyone.”

The Ghanaian and West African electric vehicle markets have significant potential for growth, with high untapped demand and minimal competition. The government’s support in achieving zero net emissions in the transportation sector is expected to drive rapid demand. By the end of 2040, a large number of petrol stations in the country will be converted to serve sustainable transportation modes such as electric vehicles.

Through collaboration with Jospong Group, Vingroup and VinFast can quickly strengthen their position and assert their presence in the electric vehicle market, particularly in the sustainable transportation industry of the region.
