On the morning of April 19, the Hanoi People’s Committee and the City Labor Federation jointly organized the Launching Ceremony for the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the Workers’ Month in 2024.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Vu Thu Ha stated that the city always prioritizes ensuring occupational safety and hygiene as a regular and continuous task. The work of occupational safety and hygiene, the situation of occupational accidents, and occupational diseases in the city have always been under control and have witnessed positive changes.

The activities in response to the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene have been implemented synchronously from the city to the grassroots level, contributing significantly to the economic development and ensuring social security in the capital.

However, in the city, there are still a number of units, enterprises, and construction works that have not paid much attention to occupational safety and hygiene, posing many risks of occupational accidents. In 2023, the city still recorded 296 occupational accidents, affecting 300 workers.

Therefore, to effectively implement the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the Workers’ Month this year, the representative of the Hanoi City leadership proposed that relevant units, especially enterprises, production and business establishments, workers, and laborers continue to thoroughly implement the directives of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, the Prime Minister, and the City Party Committee on “Promoting Occupational Safety and Hygiene in the Period of Industrialization, Modernization, and International Integration”.

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee Vu Thu Ha delivered a speech at the launching ceremony.

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Vu Thu Ha also requested that units should first focus on organizing specialized activities on occupational safety and hygiene, and community activities involving enterprises and workers.

The organization of advisory activities to support enterprises in improving working conditions; the organization of training activities for occupational safety and hygiene consultants. In particular, enhancing the professional skills of medical workers and emergency forces.

Units and enterprises need to strengthen dialogue activities at the workplace, build harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations, and care for the working life, wages, bonuses, welfare, and working conditions of workers.

Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection of occupational safety and hygiene and fire prevention and fighting at units and enterprises.

In addition, it is essential to take the initiative in developing, issuing plans and enhancing coordination and integration to improve working conditions, health care, and elevate the material and spiritual life of workers. Implement occupational safety and health self-inspections; actively implement and strengthen information technology solutions in assessing and controlling occupational safety and hygiene risks…

The launching ceremony of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the Workers’ Month in 2024 took place on the morning of April 19, 2024, with the participation of many workers.

At the launching ceremony, the Director of Hanoi Construction and Installation Enterprise No. 3 – Branch of Hanoi Housing Investment and Development Corporation, Le Thu Hang, shared that along with striving to improve production and business efficiency, the unit always prioritizes occupational safety and hygiene. Therefore, during many past years, there have been no occupational safety incidents at the enterprise.

In response to the Workers’ Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2024, the unit is determined to promote the dissemination and training of laws on occupational safety and hygiene and fire prevention and fighting to raise the sense of responsibility of employers and workers.

At the same time, the enterprise will also continuously improve working conditions and the working environment, contributing to reducing occupational accidents and occupational diseases for workers.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Trade Union of Matsuo Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd., Le Hoang Long, also informed that during and after the Workers’ Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene this year, the Company is developing a training plan on occupational safety and hygiene; organize periodic health checkups for workers; conduct internal inspections of occupational safety and hygiene; review processes and technical regulations for machines and equipment…

Also at the launching ceremony, to reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and hygiene in 2023, the Ministry of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs presented Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 3 individuals.

Deputy Minister of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs Le Van Thanh presented Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded Emulation Flags to 2 collectives and Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 4 individuals. The Hanoi People’s Committee rewarded 3 collectives and 3 individuals.

The Hanoi City Labor Federation also awarded Emulation Flags to 2 collectives and Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in occupational safety and hygiene in the city in 2023.

On this occasion, Hanoi City also presented 100 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances or who suffered occupational accidents, each worth 1,350,000 VND; 100 gifts to children of workers in difficult circumstances, each worth 1,200,000 VND.
