Minister of Transport affirms ‘no retreat’ for Dien Chau – Bai Vot Expressway

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang has stated that a significant volume of work remains on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway. Nonetheless, the target of opening 30 km of the expressway to traffic on April 30 is consistent and unchanged.

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has just announced the conclusion of Minister Nguyen Van Thang after inspecting the site and holding a review meeting on the implementation of the Dien Chau – Bai Vot component project.

According to Mr. Thang, the Prime Minister has directed to complete the traffic opening of the first 30 km section (from Dien Chau – National Highway 46B) along with the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao component project on the occasion of April 30 to celebrate the anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.

At present, the progress is very urgent, many sections of the Dien Chau – Bai Vot component project have been neatly completed, but there are still some sections that have not completed the base layers, road surface…

“The remaining work volume is very large. However, the goal of putting into operation 30 km of the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway on April 30 remains consistent and unchanged”, said Minister Nguyen Van Thang.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang and his delegation have just inspected the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway site.

To ensure the progress of traffic opening, the Minister of Transport requested the leaders of Project Management Board 6, investors, and contractors to closely follow the site, be more drastic to direct the mobilization of maximum equipment, machinery, and workers on all fronts, organize construction “3 shifts, 4 teams”, work with the highest determination, “only talk about doing, not talking about retreating”, “overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain” to deploy and complete the remaining works ensuring progress and quality.

Contractors need to enhance the spirit of solidarity, support, and help each other during the construction process to ensure the completion of the project on the occasion of April 30.

Specifically, the contractor of Joint Stock Company 456 committed to supporting the contractor of Nam Hai Company to complete the remaining volume of cement-reinforced crushed stone, asphalt concrete section Km457+131 – Km458+520.

For Hoa Hiep Company Limited, due to the large remaining volume and the construction scope scattered throughout the route, the Minister of Transport requested the contractor to establish a plan and specific progress for each unfinished item as a basis for proposing other contractors to support (if needed).

This contractor was requested to focus equipment, machinery, and personnel to complete the remaining items, which are the key project of Than Vu tunnel (cement concrete road surface, lighting system, fire prevention system, traffic safety sign system…).

Regarding the Than Vu tunnel project, Minister Nguyen Van Thang assigned the Investment Management Department to preside over, coordinate with Project Management Board 6, the construction unit is Hoa Hiep Company Limited to assess the capacity and progress of implementation, and at the same time study the plan to mobilize units with experience in tunnel construction to participate in supporting the installation of equipment, especially fire prevention and fighting equipment, operating and exploiting the tunnel to ensure sufficient conditions for traffic opening.
