Companies that have recently released their Q1 2024 financial statements as of April 25: 

The Masan Group (MSN) reported a 9% increase in pre-tax profit for Q1 2024, reaching 634 billion VND. Revenue growth contributed to the company’s increased profits.

After a period of strong growth, Nhựa Bình Minh (BMP) reported a 32% decrease in Q1 profit to 237 billion VND.

Thanks to the liquidation of an investment and the reversal of bad debt provisions, Xây Dựng Hòa Bình (HBC) reported a pre-tax profit of nearly 58 billion VND for Q1 2024, compared to a loss of 44 billion VND in the same period last year.

 Hải Phát (HPX) recorded a pre-tax profit of 22 billion VND in Q1 2024, compared to a loss of 24 billion VND in the same period last year. The company’s revenue increased by 2.1 times to 324 billion VND.

 Thép (SMC) reported a 664% increase in pre-tax profit to 179.5 billion VND.

OCB’s (OCB) total revenue reached 2,287 billion VND in the last quarter, a 9.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The main contributors to this growth were net interest income and foreign exchange trading activities. As a result, the bank recorded a pre-tax profit of 1,214 billion VND, a 23% increase year-over-year.

In the first quarter of 2024, VPBank (VPB) recorded a consolidated pre-tax profit of 4,182 billion VND, an increase of nearly 66% compared to the previous quarter and 64% compared to the same period last year. 

Sabeco (SAB) reported revenue of 7,183 billion VND in Q1 2024, a 15.6% increase compared to the same period last year. After deducting expenses, the company’s pre-tax profit was 1,303 billion VND, a 4% increase, ending a four-quarter streak of consecutive declines. 

In Q1 2024, Sasco (SAS) – an aviation service company owned by Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen – reported a pre-tax profit of 56.3 billion VND, equivalent to an average monthly profit of over 15 billion after deducting expenses.

Hodeco (HDC) reported a 52% decrease in net revenue in Q1 compared to the same period last year, reaching over 85 billion VND. The cost of goods sold decreased less, resulting in Hodeco’s gross profit of 14.7 billion VND, an 81% decrease compared to the same period last year. Hodeco’s pre-tax profit was only 115 million VND, a 99.7% decrease compared to Q1 2023, and its after-tax profit was 1.1 billion, a 96% decrease.

Sữa Quốc Tế (IDP) recorded a pre-tax profit of 286 billion VND in Q1 2024, a 3% increase compared to the same period last year. Sữa Mộc Châu (MCM), on the other hand, reported a 48% decrease in pre-tax profit for Q1 to 58 billion VND, while Sữa Hà Nội (HNM)‘s pre-tax profit also decreased by 26%.

Phốt Pho Apatit (PAT) a subsidiary of Duc Giang Chemicals (DGC), reported a 16% decrease in pre-tax profit for Q1 to 64 billion VND.

Đạm Hà Bắc (DHB)‘s pre-tax profit reached 38 billion VND, compared to a loss of 129 billion VND in the same period last year.

Companies that have released their Q1 2024 financial statements as of April 25:
