According to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, through information gathering, the Economic Police Force of Thanh Hoa City Police has recently discovered a group of suspects on the premises who are suspected of manufacturing and trading fake goods, namely Vu Hoang Thanh Tam health protection products in the form of pills produced by Kwangdong Company, traded in the Korean market and exported to Vietnam.
This product is advertised as having the effect of preventing stroke and supplementing the brain, and is currently attracting great interest and use from consumers. Taking advantage of people’s demand for health care and their lack of knowledge, the suspects use social networks to advertise and offer products online, always committing to having a large quantity of goods available and always being able to provide buyers with good prices.
Recognizing that the case shows signs of manufacturing and trading fake goods, Thanh Hoa City Police quickly organized to verify and clarify the identities and records of the related subjects, and applied synchronous professional measures to combat and dismantle this ring. After a period of persistent struggle, on April 4, 2024, under the direction of the Director and Head of the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, Thanh Hoa City Police proceeded to crack the case and organize simultaneous searches at 10 locations, including the places of residence, work, production, and storage of goods of the subjects in Hanoi.
Through the search, the police force discovered and seized many products and materials used to produce counterfeit goods, including: more than 4,000 boxes of finished Vu Hoang Thanh Tam An Cung pills (boxes of 10 pills), with a value of 10 billion VND; 100 boxes of An Cung Ngưu Hoang pills (60 pills/box) produced by Samsung Pharm; materials used for production, packaging of fake products, including: 7 bags containing plastic vials, plastic vial caps used to contain An Cung pills; more than 1,000 Kwangdong brand anti-counterfeit stamps, Kwangdong brand instruction labels; more than 1,000 kg of yellow round pills wrapped in yellow paper, along with many tools and machines for packaging products, such as presses, glue guns, staples, adhesive tape, and many foreign brand products for which invoices and documents proving their origin could not be presented because they are suspected to be fake.
Based on the results of the investigation, the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa City Police has issued a decision to initiate the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain 8 subjects for the crime of “Manufacturing and trading fake food products”.
The arrested subjects include: Nguyen Thi Thinh (born in 1978), residing in My Dinh 2 ward, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi), Nguyen Lan Huong (born in 1984), residing in La Khe ward, Ha Dong District (Hanoi); Tran Anh Cuong (born in 1994), residing in Trung Van ward, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi); Ngo Thi Tu (born in 1982), residing in Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai District (Hanoi); Nong Quang Hai (born in 1991), residing in My Dinh 1 ward, Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi); Nhu Thi Minh (born in 1991), residing in My Dinh 2 ward, Nam Tu Liem District; Pham Van Chien (born in 1985), residing in Cong Vi ward, Ba Dinh District (Hanoi) and Trinh Thi Hiep (born in 1985), residing in Phu Son ward, Thanh Hoa City.
Through the struggle and the collected documents, the subjects confessed that from the beginning of 2023 until their arrest, this ring had produced and sold to the market more than 20,000 boxes of fake Hoan Vu Hoang Thanh Tam pills, with a value of approximately 50 billion VND.
