Ring Road 3.5 links the Northern Red River Delta with the Southern Red River Delta, passing through various districts and the city of Ha Dong, Hoai Duc, Bac Tu Liem, Me Linh, Thanh Tri. Notably, Ring Road 3.5 also passes through Hung Yen province, a lesser-known region.

On November 23, 2018, the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee approved the Decision No. 2839/QD-UBND on the Planning of Ring Road 3.5 within the province.

Ring Road 3.5 through Hung Yen province has its starting point at Van Duc commune (Gia Lam district, Hanoi), and its endpoint at National Highway 5 in Trung Trac commune (Van Lam district, Hung Yen). With a total length of about 9.3 km, this section of Ring Road 3.5 will run through major urban areas such as Ecopark, Vinhomes Ocean Park 2, Vinhomes Ocean Park 3…

The route is planned as an urban axis road with six lanes, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The section outside the dike of the Red River is 80 m wide, and the section from the Red River dike to National Highway 5 is 55 m wide. The image shows the Ring Road 3.5 passing through Vinhomes Ocean Park 2.

The starting point of the Hung Yen Ring Road 3.5 will connect with Van Duc commune (Gia Lam district, Hanoi) and Ngoc Hoi bridge. This section is close to Son Ho village temple and Chu Xa hamlet.

Then, Ring Road 3.5 will reach provincial road 378, with this section mainly passing through rice fields.

Continuing from provincial road 378 to provincial road 379, this section of Ring Road 3.5 will run adjacent to Cong Luan hamlet and quite close to the headquarters of Van Giang Town People’s Committee.

Upon reaching provincial road 379, Ring Road 3.5 will turn onto To Quyen road. Not far from there lies Ecopark urban area, one of the largest urban areas in Northern Vietnam with a total area of about 5 km2 (approximately equal to Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi). The total investment value amounts to nearly 10 billion USD, and the project comprises 13 apartment buildings and 1,500 apartments along with many villas.

As per the plan, Ring Road 3.5 will coincide with To Quyen road and pass through the Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway.

After passing the Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway, Vinhomes Ocean Park 2, a project with a total investment capital of 1.6 billion USD and covering an area of 4.6 km2, will be adjacent to Ring Road 3.5. Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 is expected to house over 65,000 residents and is being developed by Vingroup, aiming to transform this urban area into a new landmark for Hung Yen city.

Next along Ring Road 3.5 is Vinhomes Ocean Park 3, with an area of about 2.9 km2 and an expected population of around 42,000. The total implementation cost is estimated at over 1.4 billion USD. It can be observed that Ring Road 3.5 has only been constructed up to the sections passing through Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 and 3.

After passing Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 and 3, Ring Road 3.5 will run parallel to Phuc Tho hamlet (Nghia Tru commune) to Bac Hung
