Noi Bai International Airport (NBIA) anticipates May 1st to be the busiest day of the holiday period. Approximately 540 flights are scheduled, including 300 domestic and over 230 international flights. Total passenger volume is expected to reach 94,000, comprising 57,000 domestic and 37,000 international passengers, marking the highest figures during the April 30th – May 1st holiday.
For domestic routes, there are 2 peak departure time slots with over 2,000 passengers per time slot. There are 16 peak arrival time slots, with 5 slots accommodating over 3,000 passengers. Peak arrival time slots are spread throughout the day on May 1st, from 6 AM to 11 PM.
Passengers began arriving at Noi Bai Airport on April 30th. Yesterday, NBIA welcomed over 80,000 passengers and over 500 flights.
The surge in passenger traffic at Noi Bai Airport is attributed to holidaymakers returning to their places of residence.
According to a survey, most popular flight routes are fully booked. For instance, the Phu Quoc – Hanoi route currently has only 1 flight remaining on May 1st, departing at approximately 8:30 PM, with a one-way fare of over 4 million VND, operated by Vietjet Air.
Notably, flights from Quy Nhon/Nha Trang/Tuy Hoa to Hanoi are completely sold out. For the Da Nang – Hanoi route, 3 flights remain available with one-way fares ranging from 2.4 – 2.6 million VND, operated by Vietjet Air and Vietnam Airlines.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route offers more options for travelers. Direct flights are available from 4 airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines. One-way fares for this route start from 2.1 million VND.
As per regulations from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, NBIA has implemented enhanced security measures at level 1 until the end of today.
Airport authorities advise passengers to carefully check their identification documents, prepare their luggage according to regulations, claim their correct luggage, and safeguard their belongings before leaving the airport to avoid loss or theft.
