The Nhơn – Dai Lo Thang Long upgrade and expansion project of Route 70 is located in the Nam Tu Liem District of Hanoi City and is over 3 kilometers in length. The project has a total investment of over VND 2,800 billion from the city budget for upgrades and expansion.
The starting point of Route 70 is at the intersection with Dai Lo Thang Long in the Tay Mo flyover area, passing through the Vinhomes Smart City urban area in the Vinmec hospital area.
The endpoint connects to National Highway 32, where the Nhơn Metro station is located. This is the starting point of the Nhơn – Ha Noi metro line, which is expected to be operational this year.
The section of Route 70 from National Highway 32 to Truong Chinh Van Street was opened to traffic in April 2019. The entire route is 1.3 kilometers long, with a cross-section of 50 meters as planned, with a total investment of nearly VND 265 billion. The Hateco Apollo Xuan Phuong apartment project with a total area of 3.5 hectares is located on the route.
The remaining section from Truong Chinh Van to Cau Nga has a road width of only 7-8 meters, with no median strip separating the two directions. Currently, the roadside is often cluttered with construction materials and waste. Many bends have limited visibility.
Part of the project to expand part of Route 70, the section from Cau Nga to the boundary of the International Education Village project, 1.2 kilometers long, has been implemented since 2020 and is expected to open to traffic from 2021. However, after 4 years, the project is still incomplete.
In the new road section, people take advantage of it for sports and physical exercise. This is also the place where many people take advantage of it for driving practice for cars and motorbikes.
The completed section has created a “bottleneck” at Canh intersection and the section from Ngo 6 Mieu Nha to Cau Nga, causing traffic congestion during rush hour.
Therefore, the project to upgrade and expand the Nhơn – Dai Lo Thang Long section of Route 70 is highly anticipated. Upon completion, it will help ease traffic congestion, boost socio-economic development, and stimulate the real estate market in the southern and western parts of the capital.
The Nhơn – Dai Lo Thang Long section of Route 70 currently runs through many major urban areas, such as Vinhomes Smart City, International Education Village, Viglacera Xuan Phuong Urban Area, Foresa Xuan Phuong Urban Area, Xuan Phuong National Assembly Housing Project, etc.
