The City Boulevard: A Historic Thoroughfare. Once Vietnam’s Longest Street, Boasting Over 3,000 House Numbers and Serving as the Main Artery for a Thriving City of Over 200,000 Inhabitants.

"Once upon a time, Viet Tri City in Phu Tho Province boasted an impressive 15-kilometer-long boulevard, aptly named Hung Vuong Avenue. With over 3,000 house numbers, it was a bustling hub of activity and the longest road of its kind in Vietnam. This vibrant thoroughfare, winding through the city like a lively river, was the pulsating heart of this beautiful riverside urban area."

Hung Vuong Avenue, which opened in 2005, is one of the longest and most beautiful roads in Viet Tri City. The avenue is over 15 kilometers long and cost nearly VND 54.5 billion to construct, funded by government bonds and other sources.

Hung Vuong Avenue starts at the intersection of Viet Tri and Hac Tri bridges and ends at the junction with Van Lang Street, leading to the main entrance of Den Hung Temple (at the foot of Nghia Linh Mountain, Hy Cuong Commune).

In 2005, the Vietnam Records Organization (Vietbooks) recognized Hung Vuong Avenue as the longest avenue in Vietnam. According to their records, the avenue stretches from km 68 to km 53, with over 2,000 consecutive house numbers and still expanding. If all the numbers were assigned, they would reach the tens of thousands.

The avenue is designed as a one-way main city road with a 35-meter-wide cross-section. The road surface is made of 12-centimeter-thick asphalt, featuring drainage ditches on both sides and at intersections, along with traffic signals and signs.

The central median of Hung Vuong Avenue is adorned with high-pressure lamps and decorative lights, as well as numerous billboards, banners, and posters, creating a modern gateway to the city.

Along its over 15-kilometer length, Hung Vuong Avenue boasts more than 3,000 consecutive house numbers. At the intersection with Van Lang Street, which leads to Den Hung Temple, stands the headquarters of VietinBank Bac Phu Tho with the address 3769. This is not the highest house number, as the avenue continues to expand.

Lining Hung Vuong Avenue in Viet Tri City are several urban areas, such as the Minh Phuong Urban Area (over 48 hectares) and the Palm Manor Project (over 56 hectares). Pictured here is the Palm Manor Project, expected to be completed and handed over by the end of 2024.

Additionally, along Hung Vuong Avenue are industrial parks, notably the Thuy Van Industrial Park. In 2022, the government approved the investment policy for the Thuy Van Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Project, covering 335 hectares with a total investment of over VND 600 billion.

Hung Vuong Avenue is now part of National Highway 2 and plays a significant role in the province’s socio-economic development, enhancing the city’s gateway with its beautiful landscape. It also facilitates transportation within the province and to other provinces.
