The Hanoi People’s Committee has approved a list of 36 investment projects for the city in the first phase of 2024. These projects cover infrastructure, transportation, urban areas, shopping centers, wholesale markets, hotels, and amusement parks.
Among these, Dong Anh district stands out with six urban development projects. This includes the G3 New Urban Area (nearly 80ha, VND 8,127 billion) in Kim Chung and Dai Mach communes; G13 New Urban Area (over 44ha, VND 3,113 billion) in Mai Lam and Dong Hoi communes; G8 New Urban Area (46.6ha, VND 3,153 billion) in Kim No and Kim Chung communes; and G17 New Urban Area (20.6ha, VND 5,892 billion) in Nam Hong commune.
Additionally, Dong Anh district boasts two social housing projects: Star City Tien Duong New Urban Area and Social Housing in Tien Duong commune (44.72ha) with an investment of over VND 8,500 billion; and Green Link City New Urban Area and Social Housing in the same commune (39.5ha) with an investment of over VND 5,800 billion.
Furthermore, the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment has recently announced its search for investors for a smart and eco-friendly urban area project in Dong Anh district.
Spanning 268 ha across three communes of Tam Xa, Vinh Ngoc, and Xuan Canh, this project is expected to house approximately 12,833 apartments and accommodate 38,500 people. With a total investment of VND 35,000 billion, the project has a duration of 50 years from the date of land allocation or lease to the investor. The deadline for project implementation is the end of 2031.
Notably, Dong Anh and Gia Lam districts are aiming to become new urban areas by 2025. Dong Anh, in particular, has been the focus of significant infrastructure development in recent times.
In July 2023, the Hanoi People’s Committee approved the investment project for the construction of a section of Ring Road 3 in Dong Anh district, with a total investment of nearly VND 5,000 billion. The road passes through nine communes in Dong Anh, namely Lien Ha, Viet Hung, Uy No, Dong Anh town, Tien Duong, Van Noi, Nguyen Khe, Bac Hong, and Nam Hong.
Other notable projects in the district include the construction of a road along National Highway 3 through Van Ha commune (1.8 km long and 40 m wide, costing VND 278 billion); the LK51 road section from the new National Highway 3 to Uy No road; the LK53 road section from the Eastern Economic Road to the end of Dong Anh district; the Nam Hong-Tien Duong LK47 road; and the road from the Nguyen Khe Industrial Park to Bac Hong commune. One of the most significant projects is the construction of a road from the Hanoi-Lao Cai railway to the Dong Anh Industrial Park.
Moreover, Hanoi plans to build three bridges across the Red River: Tu Lien (VND 17,000 billion), Thuong Cat (VND 8,300 billion), and a new Thang Long Bridge, connecting Dong Anh to the city center.
