According to Report 385/BC-TCTK from the Ninh Binh Statistics Office, the province’s industrial production in May is estimated to increase by 0.75% compared to the previous month. Specifically, the mining industry decreased by 4.25%, while the manufacturing industry increased by 0.85%. Electricity production and distribution decreased by 0.87%, and water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment activities increased by 1.53%.
In the first five months of 2024, the province’s IIP index rose by 5.75%. The mining industry saw a significant increase of 18.89%, followed by the manufacturing industry at 4.12%. Electricity production and distribution increased by 63.61%, while water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment activities rose by 5.19%.
TOTAL INVESTMENT CAPITAL REACHED MORE THAN 12.4 TRILLION DONG
The industrial production value of Ninh Binh province in the first five months of 2024 is estimated at more than 39.725 trillion VND, up 6.3% compared to the same period last year. Mining is estimated at 392.7 billion VND, up 19.7%; manufacturing at 38.7956 trillion VND, up 5.7%; and electricity production and distribution at 458.9 billion VND, up 60.6%.
Some key industrial products of the province that saw high growth compared to the same period last year include various types of stones, fresh pineapple juice, shoes, urea, and NPK fertilizer. However, some products experienced a decrease in production, such as canned pineapple, embroidered goods, clothing, cement, and camera modules.
The total investment capital implemented in May 2024 in Ninh Binh province is estimated at 2,687 billion VND, an increase of 2.3% compared to the same month last year. Specifically, state capital reached 548.3 billion VND, up 12.5%; non-state capital was nearly 1,922 billion VND, down 5.9%; and foreign direct investment (FDI) capital was 216.8 billion VND, twice the amount from the previous year.
Accumulated in the first five months of 2024, the total investment capital implemented in the province is estimated at more than 12.447 trillion VND, up 2.9% compared to the same period in 2023. State capital accounted for more than 2,355 billion VND, an increase of 4.2%; non-state capital was over 9,038 billion VND, a decrease of 3.5%; and FDI capital reached nearly 1,054 billion VND, twice the amount from the previous year.
Ninh Binh’s total retail sales of goods in May were estimated at nearly 6,295 billion VND, a surge of 19.0% compared to May 2023. In the first five months of 2024, the province’s total retail sales of goods exceeded 33.031 billion VND, up 26.9% compared to the same period last year. Notably, 11 out of 12 groups of goods saw an increase in retail sales, with some groups achieving remarkable growth, including food and foodstuffs, garments, cultural and educational goods, and wood and construction materials.
The revenue from accommodation and catering services in May 2024 in Ninh Binh is estimated at nearly 789 billion VND, a substantial increase of 27.0% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from travel services is estimated at 7.2 billion VND, a remarkable surge of 54.9%, while revenue from other services is estimated at 519.5 billion VND, up 14.0%.
In the first five months of this year, the revenue from accommodation and catering services in the province is estimated to have reached over 3,864 billion VND, up 31.3% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from travel services is estimated to have reached over 42.9 billion VND, a significant increase of 5.6 times, while revenue from other services is estimated at over 2,530.3 billion VND, up 11.5%.
TOURISM REVENUE EXCEEDS 5.3 TRILLION VND
The total export value of goods of Ninh Binh province in May is estimated at 302.9 million USD, a substantial increase of 15.6% compared to May 2023. In the first five months of 2024, the province’s total export value of goods is estimated at 1,390 million USD, up 10.2% compared to the same period last year. Some key export items include camera and components, shoes, cement and clinker, garments, electronic components, and auto parts.
In the first five months of this year, some export items from Ninh Binh witnessed significant growth compared to the same period last year, including embroidered lace products, optical glasses, electronic components, and children’s toys.
However, some export items from the province experienced a decline, such as canned pineapple and cucumber, concentrated pineapple juice, and garments in terms of quantity. Nonetheless, some items, including garments, camera and components, and other coir products, saw an increase in export value despite a decrease in quantity.
The total import value of goods in May in Ninh Binh is estimated at nearly 257.5 million USD, a slight increase of 0.8% compared to the same month last year.
Accumulated in the first five months of this year, the total import value of goods in Ninh Binh is estimated at over 1,214.9 million USD, up 7.3% compared to the same period last year. The value of imported goods in key categories includes electronic components, auto parts, shoe production materials, textiles, and machinery.
The number of visitors to tourist attractions in the province in May is estimated at nearly 730,000, a significant increase of 52.9% compared to the same month last year. Domestic visitors accounted for nearly 627,000, an increase of 40.5%, while international visitors reached 103,000, a remarkable surge of 3.3 times.
The number of visitors to accommodation establishments in the province is estimated at 180,900, an increase of 86.2%, while the number of visitor-days is estimated at 194,400, up 43.4%. Tourism revenue in the month is estimated at 714.6 billion VND, a substantial increase of 48.0%.
In the first five months of this year, the number of visitors to tourist attractions in the province is estimated at nearly 5.7 million, a rise of 36.1% compared to the same period last year. Domestic visitors exceeded 5 million, an increase of 27.4%, while international visitors reached nearly 616,000, a significant surge of 3.1 times.
The number of visitors to accommodation establishments in Ninh Binh province is estimated at over 1 million, an increase of 82.9%, and the number of visitor-days is estimated at over 1.1 million, a rise of 58.0%. Tourism revenue in the first five months is estimated at over 5,337 billion VND, up 55.5% compared to the same period last year, including accommodation revenue of 382.2 billion VND, up 42.7%, and catering revenue of over 2,625 billion VND, an increase of 48.3%.
