It’s no surprise that China, the world’s most populous country, tops the list. In 2023, mainland China and Hong Kong consumed a combined total of 42 billion servings of instant noodles. This equates to approximately 30 servings per person last year.
The remaining countries in the top 5 are all located in Asia: Indonesia (14.5 billion servings), India (8.7 billion servings), Vietnam (8.1 billion servings), and Japan (5.8 billion servings).
Only two countries outside of Asia made it into the top 10: the United States, with 5.1 billion servings consumed last year, and Nigeria, with 3 billion. Russia ranked 12th globally in instant noodle consumption, with 2.2 billion servings.
